Ive had my license a week.. Where did all the LPN jobs go?

It depends on where you live. Usually in the biggest cities, you will find jobs for LPNs in hospitals, physician offices, and nursing homes. Anywhere else, the majority of jobs will be found in nursing homes. LPNs seemed to have been phased out a bit in doctors offices and replaced with medical assistants. In hospitals, you may see some LPNs, but for the most part, they hire RNs only.

Bur Florida was plentiful...this is SEASON also! I worked Pembroke Pines hosp - while I was there - check the smaller hospitals!

Well if it makes you feel any better around here the LTCs pay LPNs way better than the hospital jobs. Hang in there!

Sorry to say but, I know at least where I live and work in Maryland, LPNs are being phased out of the hospitals...but they are paying for them to go back to school to get their RN!

What do you mean? There is a MAJOR shortage of LPNs in LTC and Home Health almost everywhere. I cannot imagine that there are places that exist where this s not the case? Is this the case where you live?

If you are looking at hospital jobs then you will find a problem unless you already work in a hospital. Most hospitals do not have shortages of New Graduate LPNs or RNs. The "nursing shortage" as it relates to acute care is in reference to experienced RNs only. Good luck with your search.
