RN Registration to CNO from International trained nurse

Hi I am submitting my application for RN Registration to CNO next week. Can you help me out with some of my questions?

1. how long does CNO give an applicant to complete the registration process after receipt of my application and payment? 2 years?

2. would CNO require course description of my other courses (non-Nursing)? I took up B.S. Computer Science for a year and a summer, and B.S. Psychology for only 1 semester before I took up Nursing. do I send course descriptions on those too?

3. Will they accept an IELTS result more than a year old?

4. What do I send as a proof of PR/landing papers since I'm still in my home country? I'm leaving for Canada in May 2011. Does that mean they won't proceed with my application just because I won't have that one requirement yet? :(

Hope someone can enlighten me with these. Thank you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!:reef:

It is important to be able to communicate clearly whether it is written or spoken. If you have eligibility to sit CRNE then that is usually OK for employers but a lot will depend on the job and the advert.

Specializes in Emergency, Public helath.

hello Bax RN

Your ielts scores are just perfect. CNO needs 1152 hours of experience so now you can calculate whether you have enpough hours to show.

I dont have any about your special case, but in the end the important thing is that you need to have a Bsc degree in nursing, which CNO will assess.

All the best I have also applied recently to CNO.

Until the CNO reviews your application a decision can not be predicted. They are in the end the ones who makes final decision

It is now pretty much impossible for an IEN to become licensed through CNO since NNAS became part of the process. Most will need to go back to school.
