RN from the Philippines (now in CA) seeking HELP regarding IL NCLEX application

Published

Hello there nurses. I'm a Registered Nurse from the Philippines.

I've been living here in San Diego, California for a year now. I applied for CA NCLEX-RN last year and to my dismay, my application was denied due to the fact that my clinical cases (DR & Surg cases) were not completed in the same semester when I took the subjects (OB & Med-Surg). Now, CA BRN wants me to RETAKE Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical Nursing (Theory & Practice). It's a PROBLEM because colleges/universities have a LONG waiting list for me to retake those subjects. Maybe my CA NCLEX-RN application will be expired even before I have the chance to go to school again and retake those subjects.

SO, I thought of taking NCLEX-RN in a different state. I am thinking of Illinois because I have a place to stay there.

1. So, what are the STEPS in applying for IL NCLEX-RN? Again, I am a Foreign grad.

2. Do you guys think I won't have the same problem as I did here in CA?

3. How long will the processing take?

4. Is it okay if I just stay here in CA as they process my application in IL?

Thank you so much. It means a lot for a new soul like me.

It doesn't get any better than this link:

Read more on that section as there are more information given out, just take your time to read the other topics for this state. Good luck!
