rn new grad training as tech?

Published

I'm an RN new grad. I might have an opportunity to work in a dialysis clinic. They are willing to train. However they said that I need to work as a tech for 18 months. Is that usual? Would I still be doing RN stuff - just training to get tech certified? Thx

Hi :) did you ever get a job in dialysis?

what was the pay to be that of an rn or tech pay?

It is usually at or near to the nurse salary. No nurse will work for 18 months at a technician salary.

Hi! Just wondered where your possible job was, I'm kind of in the same boat and I have an interview for the position in Ft. Lauderdale FL

Where in Ft L. What company if it is not too personal.

Specializes in Clinical Research, Outpt Women's Health.

I would go for it IF the pay was at a rate for a new grad RN in your community.....

The experience that you will get there will be unmatched. They will ensure that you are properly trained prior to leaving you alone in the facility. There is also a lot of learning opportunities there. Do well on your interview. You will not regret it. P.S. they pay the training nurses at the full salary.
