  1. You said it better than I could! You definetly understand where I'm coming from.
  2. Hi everyone, I have been feeling really down about my job ever since I started. I am an RN now and I was an LPN before. When I was an LPN I hated everything about nursing homes. I don't like the dynamics of a nursing home. I got my RN license in hopes of getting a hospital job because that is what I've dreamt of for years. I looked for months and put in countless applications and got nowhere. I was broke so I applied at a nursing home and they hired me the same day. I work the floor just like I did when I was an LPN. The only "RN responsibility" I have is hanging IVs and taking call-offs. Is there any hope for me? Will I be stuck in the same crappy job that I tried to escape from forever? Any one else in the same boat? I am really starting to feel like I made a mistake becoming a nurse because every nursing job I've had I hate it. what to do??
  3. Hi! Just wondered where your possible job was, I'm kind of in the same boat and I have an interview for the position in Ft. Lauderdale FL
  4. Hi, I am writing because I currently live in a small town in Ohio. I have had 3 interviews and 0 job offers. I have put in countless applications and have now decided that my only option is to flee Ohio. I have applied for endorsement of my RN license in FL and am just waiting for word that it is approved. I spent about a week in FL with my sister in law who lives in St. Pete and called about 10 LTC facilities. All said they were hiring. I look online and see many listings at local hospitals (Baycare, St. Pete general, etc) Yet, so many people say they are having a really hard time getting a job. I am a new grad as well but I am willing to work absolutely anywhere! I know my need for a job is no more desperate than anyone else's but I would really like to know if there is ANY hope for me getting a job down here. St. Pete, Tampa, and surrounding is the area I want to focus on (I will be living with my S.I.L while I get on my feet.) Any one else in the same boat? Any body with anything good to report?
  5. I'm really looking forward to getting this license! I have put in countless applications and had 3 interviews in Ohio and still have no job. I don't even care where I get a job, I just want one! LOL
  6. Thank you! I hope it only takes me 3 weeks!! It's already been 2!! I'm so anxious to get down there! I'm tired of boring old Ohio!!
  7. I keep seeing HCA.. this may sound silly but what does that stand for??
  8. Thank you! I am licensed in OH so I am just trying to get the endorsement. The Florida board of nursing website says that it could take up to 30 days but I was hoping it would be a little sooner than that! Thanks again!
  9. Hi everyone! I mailed my application and money and everything needed to get endorsement in FL (im from ohio) and I am soooo anxious to get my license there!! How long do they take to respond?? Thanks for your help!
  10. I have posted something in the FLORIDA forum and no one has responded I don't think any place is in DIRE need of nurses but there may be more positions available than there are where I live. EVERYONE where I live goes to become a nurse because there's nothing else as far as jobs go.
  11. Yeah I'm looking for an RN job. I loomed at some of the Tampa hospitals and there were lots of jobs posted for RNs and I'm hoping to get in somewhere down there. I have lpn experience but I'm a new grad RN
  12. Hi nurses!! I am just wondering if anyone knows what the starting pay rate is for new grads in Tampa...I'm thinking of moving down there with my sister and none of the websites say what they pay...thanks for your help! !
  13. I worked in nursing homes with skilled patients before. I'm wondering if that will help me to get my foot in the door. I've been really seriously considering FL , I just wasn't sure if I really wanted to move without being really sure I could get something
  14. I am willing to relocate to NC, SC, FL, TX, AZ. If I'm leaving OH I at least want it to be warm where I go! LOL
