I am enrolled in the RN-MSN program at Aspen University and after finishing the first two courses I feel that this has been a great choice. If anyone out there is looking for an affordable program with solid nursing content check out Aspen.
Quiet1, when did you start? Moving right along! I start June 1st and I'm a bit nervous about it. Can someone tell me how it starts? I've registered for 490 and I assume I will get some info a few days before the class commences about how to proceed. I've received my books. Should I start reading? I really have a lot on my plate and want to be prepared! Is there anything I can do now to be ready for June1? Good luck to you Quiet1...we'll see you soon at AU!
Hi Mtsteelhorse,
You will receive an email a few days ahead of the start date giving you the information on getting started in the class. It's pretty straightforward! It wouldn't hurt a thing to start reading now, though your reading will also be directed via the assignments. I really enjoyed 490, and the instructor, Fionda, is excellent in terms of giving feedback. As I recall you were worried about APA formatting, and she will give you good feedback about that too.
My best advice is to plan to do one module per week. You can do this!
See you soon!!
AU is easy to deal with, super straightforward, affordable and results in a Master's degree. I decided I don't need a second BS even tho I don't have a BSN. I am very pleased with my decision and start June 1. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to talk to real people on the phone/computer and get prompt and thorough responses. I feel like a person, not a number. OU was exhausting to deal with and after it was all said and done I'm glad I'm opting for the MSN over the BSN at OU. Good luck to you.
hello babynurse73,
I am also a student at Aspen University and could not be happier. Everyone I have been in contact with is supportive. I will have an MSN as a nursing educator and I will not be in debt up to my ears. The courses are interesting, challenging, and manageable. This is an awesome choice for my higher education.
Almost started American Sentinel University today, but found Aspen which seems much cheaper. I note that the first six courses are the same; Sentinel granted me credit for two of the first six. I like Sentinel's Infection Control program and note that Aspen does not offer that pathway, but, maybe I can transfer the credit to Sentinel or maybe I can just finish the course at Aspen for the price/tuition difference. I think an MSN is an MSN unless one goes for the NP.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Kevin
