RN 119~LATTC

Published

Hello,

I was recently accepted into the nursing program at Los Angeles Trade Tech College for Fall 2014 ?. Just wondering if there are any former or current nursing students who could tell me what the RN 119 course consists of? I know it's required to pass this course to continue on to the remainder of the semester. Thanks

Hi! Sorry I can't answer this question for you, but I was wondering when you applied to LATTC in order to get accepted for this Fall?

Thanks in advance and congrats

Thanks so much :) I took the TEAS test in November at LATTC. If u receive a passing score at that time, they allow u to complete the nursing application. I received my acceptance letter in March so my wait time was not very long...

Hi Shandabnurse2b, I also got accepted into the nursing program for fall and I'm clueless with this class. What I saw in previous posts is that this just started last semester. Our luck!

Oh ok thx.. Well I guess we will find out what the class consists of soon. See u in the fall :)

Did anyone get their acceptance letter for Spring 2015 yet? I applied July 2014 with the TEAS complete. They said my time is Fall 2015 with the possibility of Spring 2015, which I anxiously hope to get into.

Hi Kimberly,

I hope you ended up getting in. I received a call on Monday offering me a spot for Spring 2015 but opted to remain on the waiting list. Hope that helps, Good luck!

I am hoping to get in Fall 2015. Finishing my last prereqs this semester. Do you guys think I might get in? Do I take my TEAS the same day I go and apply? Or do they give me a later date for the exam? Going first thing January.

Hi Grizzy88,

I hope everything worked out with your prereqs. If my memory serves me right, as long as you meet the requirements for the nursing program you are guaranteed a spot but it's first come, first serve. So if Fall 2015 semester is full by the time you apply and submit all required documents, you'll have to wait until Spring 2016.

The first thing you have to do is make an appointment with the nursing consular and bring all unofficial transcripts. She will determine if you're eligible to apply. If you are, she'll give you a form to take to the nursing department and they'll give you the application to the program. It's real short, like on page.

Submit official transcripts and you're done.

As for the teas, you can take it on your own elsewhere and just submit your official score from the ATI website (that's what I did, I had the TEAS done already when I applied), but MAKE SURE YOU PASS, I think they have to take your first score. I don't remember what the passing score for LATT is, I think it's in the 60's. If you don't have your TEAS done at time of application, I think they set it up for you, but its after you submit your application.

Hope that helps. Sorry for the late reply and long post. Good luck!

If you got accepted into LATTC or any other school, please go to the other school. The teachers take everything personally and take it out on the students. They have some much going on in their personal life and again they take it out on the students. They don't actually teach they just read at you. If you stand up for yourself they take it out on you. Its a very toxic environment and the worst teachers have tenure so the union protects them. If you decide to go to LATTC and you are an LVN keep it to your self because they will pick on you.

I disagree with you 200%. I am an LVN who is going into 3rd semester and the teachers have been nothing but helpful. I told them I was an LVN 1st semester and the director at that time said LVNs do poorly when they bridge in. LVNs have to start thinking like RNs and some have trouble with that. As for them just reading at students, some teachers will do this when they see students are coming to class not prepared for lecture, you are suppose to read ahead of time. Some of the teachers have taken away the PowerPoint because students where just using that instead of supplementing with txt. Ms ** 1ST semester teacher is very helpful she trys very had to have everyone pass, out of 40 in my class we only had one fail.

If you were in this past semester, your class had quite a few issues, such as following directions during tests and not following the correct chain of command. Also going toe to toe with a teacher or the director of the nursing program is never a good thing or smart thing. Yes stick up for yourself but do it in the right manner and also follow protocol and listen to what is expected and said.
