I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.
So I just found this thread and have spent the last 3 hours reading all of your posts. Lots of good info here. I wish I had found it months ago. I took the NLN on May 1st (what I thought was the dealine) and did very well. I have been eagerly checking my email and freaking out every time my Gmail notification on my phone goes off. I'm glad I'm not the only 1 that is nervous. Good to luck to all of you. God willing those of us that deserve to get in will and those of us that dont, but can become good nurses will also be accepted.By the way did any of you get a call from the NLN about how you did on the test\how you prepared for it? I also got a call from Dr. McGinnis' office (Dean of student affairs) and ended up having a 15 minute meeting with her about the test a few weeks back. It was just to ask about what I thought of the test and how I prepared.sorry for such a long post. I actually kept it short.

Welcome Jose :-)
the NLN called you? Didnt get any calls in tegards to how I prepared for the exam..
definitely did not get contacted by the Dean of student affairs...
im curious though what did you score on the NLN and what is your gpa?
I scored a 155 on the NLN. My GPA is about 3.2 I think. Most of that is from FIU. The NLN called me mid may. It was just a "follow up" call. Basically asking me what I used to study. The meeting with Dr. McGinnis was on May 27th. Had I been on this forum then I would have asked her so many of the questions I've seen here.
Dr. McGinnis really just wanted to know what I thought about the test. She said because it was a new exam they needed feedback from randomly selected students. I work so many hours I haven't really thought much about any of this until now because I know acceptance emails should be arriving somewhat soon.
I was checking out this site that someone mentioned awhile back but I noticed that it was never updated for spring 2014.Maybe they are using a different site now? Or do they use a different site for the spring terms? If anyone knows

They did update for spring if you see the dates those are for spring 2014

What did you think of the test and how did you prepare? I believe that's the highest number I heard so far.
Overall I thought the test was pretty easy. Especially the math. I scored a 97% on math. A little background though, I planned on going to dental school initially so I have taken 2 calc classes, 2 stats classes and 2 physics classes. Plus I studied for the DAT (Dental Admission Test) which has math that is WAY more difficult. The science and verbal on the DAT is also more difficult and more comprehensive. I scored 86% on verbal and science. 99th percentile in math and science, 96th in Verbal. The only thing that worries me is that I'm currently taking HSC0003 and DEP 2000. They accepted my application but told me if I was accepted it would be tentative pending completion of these 2 classes. DEP is a joke. The HSC class also seems very easy. I checked my GPA again because I wasn't sure and I saw 2 #s. A 3.21 and a 3.9. Going by the comments I think one is for my overall and 1 is for the science classes. The classes that I have taken at Dade have all been A's except 1 lab was a B+. They made me take a ton of classes even though I have a bachelors of science in Bio fro FIU.
No idea. I had to talk to the head advisor in order to let me apply. I had spoken to advisors previously and the list of classes they told me to take didn't include these 2. An oversight on both our parts. They had the advisement sessions documented and I promised them I'd get A's in both so they let me apply. I think my test score also worked in my favor and a letter of recommendation I had from my Micro class professor. I thought we needed letters? We don't. PA program only.
@ jfrov11: You said you have a Bio Degree from FIU. Did you apply to the Accelerated BSN Program at FIU or any other schools? I'm curious as to why you have chosen the ADN route given the fact that you have an undergraduate degree. Wouldn't it be cheaper and faster to do an accelerated BSN program?
