On my resume and cover letter I wrote that I want to obtain a position as a "Critical Care Nurse". I will only be an RN when I get a job, not a CCRN. Is it correct to write Critical Care Nurse or should I write to obtain a position as a "registered nurse in critical care".
Thanks.

Saying you want to be a critical care nurse is fine, that is a position based on experience. The CCRN is a certification.

Yep, CCRN is just a certification. It does not certify you to provide critical care nursing, it simply helps with knowledge validation. It is one way to prove that you have a specific amount of knowledge in critical care. Oh yeah, you may get a raise and a piece of paper to hang on the "I love me wall."
