Are you looking for an online RN-to-BSN program, or must it be classroom-based?

I have several suggestions if you are willing to enroll in an online program.

Specializes in Neuro ICU and Med Surg.

Do you want online only? Does your hospital partner with a local university? At my hospital we are partnered with a local university and we have a class we attend once a week. It is the same day and time for all semesters. In addition I am taking some additional completely online classes to meet requirements like philosophy that I didn't need for my original degree at Clovis Community College online.

I'd like to hear online ones :)

Yes, I'd like Online Only. Currently assessing Grand Canyon University and Walden University. Any feedback?

Both of those schools are investor-owned and the tuition is expensive. Here are some more affordable options:

1. Eastern New Mexico University: $202/credit

2. Fort Hays State University: $186/credit

3. UT Arlington RN-to-BSN: $257/credit

4. Western Governors: $3250/term

I completed Western Governors' RN-to-BSN program. It took me 10 months and cost $5,800.

I'm pretty much done with Grand Canyon, just finished the Final nursing course--the Capstone, but require 2 "anything" classes, as one needs so many credits to pass!

One requires 12 classes, Most expensive was $1505, some were around $1480.....That includes the "book fee" As all ur required reading material is online, which is nice! You can see and read every book that is required right from the start of the program!

They used to offer a 10% discount on Tuition if you belonged to the ANA...but someone told me they no longer do that.

Each class is only 5 weeks long! Which is good and bad,lol As you get a full semester of work in 5 weeks! If you are strong at writing papers, this course is for you! As nearly every week, you will have 1 paper due!! Most average between 750-1000 words! Some in the 1500 word range! I usually did my paper writing in 1 day. As well each week, one has 2 Discussion Questions (DQs) to do. 1 is due Wed, the other Fri. They are fairly simple....and u have to REPLY to others. The rules states that you must reply to 2 posts, for 3 days out of the week. So in other words, in the same day, you have to reply twice..and do that for 3 days out of the week. Some profs enforce that, others just care if u get the 6 replies in for the week. DQs in my opinion are pretty easy

The downfall of the program is the group projects! As 1 would think everyone would be motivated and can write at somewhat of a decent level! WRONG!! Some people are true slackers and don't care! Some write at a grade 1 level...soem think copying/pasting from a website is all this is required to be done!! Never heard of Plagiarism! Some just want to argue and argue! I was fortunate and that most of my groups were fine....did have 1 group were 1 gal went MIA for like 12 days...but worked to our advantage, lol If you have a good group, the projects tend to be fairly simple....

But there are less $$$ schools out there! I found GCU very convenient and the online program was very easy to use.

How many courses did you have to take?

I finally enrolled at WGU. I would advice you...to do your BSN at this program. Imagine...I have completed 6 courses in 6 weeks....finishing my 7tg course in the 7th week...with 9 more courses to go. Hopefully I can finish the whole thing in one term.

Just finiSHED, TODAY, my BSN program at WGU in only 3 months. Happy.

Just curious (no disrespect) but if one can finish that many classes in such a short period of time, how difficult are those classes? a whole course in 1 week? Great that it is so cheap, but are you learning anything?
