RN to BSN online

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

In preparation for getting a BSN, I am trying to gather information regarding online BSN programs. if you have links to what you feel is an affordable, online, no residency requirement program, please post 'em here.

One program that I came across was at Thomas Edison State College. does anyone have any information regarding their program? I was hoping to find someone that has first hand (or second hand ? ) experience with the TESC RN to BSN program as it seems to be an affordable option, which, of course, is always a bonus. from reading the catalog on their site it appears that you can use some of the EC exams to satisfy the upper-level nursing courses.

The TESC program looks pretty decent but I am looking for some feedback to any online rn to BSN program. if anyone has links to what they feel is an affordable online rn/bsn program please post the link here.

Steph- I would call the school of nursing and specifically ask if this applies to TTUHSC-SON. I remember that during orientation for their RN to BSN program, they specifically point out that Texas Tech University is not the same as Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center...which is where the School of Nursing is out of. The link you show is for a school out of TTU. If you fill out any financial aid information you have to specify TTU Health Sciences Center. Also, if you look at their most recent school catalog for the cost of the program it specifically lists non-[Texas] resident tuition cost. One last thing, I remember during registration for both the spring semester and this current semester, out of state students have specific class numbers they are to register for. If they were NOT gong to charge out of state students differently, it would NOT matter what class numbers they chose.

Go to the TTUHSC SON website look under prospective students, and choose their RN to BSN program. There are a bunch of FAQs listed with numbers you can call regarding the different questions, one of which is about the cost of the program. One phone call should get you an accurate answer regarding this.

Good Luck!!

Hello everyone...still no job yet but I am not giving up, so on the plan B............Are there any RN-BSN online schools that offer the same amount for instate and out of state and what has been your experience with FIU and the EC exams?....thnx

Hi,

Is anyone in the University of Texas at Arlington online RN-BSN program? I start next month and was just wanting some advice.

Thanks

Hi tora, I am researching UT arlington for admission in the fall. Can you please tell me your impression since you started in June. I must say their online presentation is very organized. It very plainly lays out the requirements, the timeline to complete (13 mos.) and the cost is reasonable. They charge $349 per course of 3 credits. I have a few of the prereqs left to take and I will do these at my local community college.

Thx in advance for your help. :)

Hi Goingcoastal,

I know you said you are almost done. How are the classes at University of Texas at Arlington? Did you have a lot of group presentations. Were you supported by the "coaches" and staff they mention in the online presentation? Can it really be done in 13 mos as shown on the website. Provided of course one has most if not all the general courses. I have been reading the thread and appreciate all the input from everyone. I am really impressed with the presentation of this school and the price seems doable the rn-bsn cost is listed as $6,850. If you could address these questions for me that would be extremely helpful.

Thanx a bunch :)

I would like to know too, pleassssse...thnx

Hello, I am new to all of this stuff, out of school for 15years, but have been working as an RN the entire time, 3 kids, and now thinking of going back to school, I have Associates in Science with my RN.

Enough about me, Does anyone have any info on Chamberlain College of Nursing Online program, they have been receptive and attentive though the admission process but any other info would be great!! Struggling a bit!

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

There are a bunch of threads in this forum (Distance Learning) about Chamberlain. If you look up toward the top of the discussion titles, you'll see a link that says "Search This Section" with an arrow. If you click on the arrow, it'll open the search box. You might want to search by thread (fewer results) vs. post (too many results).

I graduated from Chamberlain a month ago, and loved it. :) Welcome to allnurses!!

Cheapest online RN-to-BSN programs appear to be U Wyo and Fort Hays State U.

Both require clinical hrs (you can get them in a local free clinic or something).

UT at Arlington doesn't require extra clinical hrs but charges approx double UWyo or FHSU ($6400, 13 months).

I think I'm going for UTA. Might take me longer than 13 months, prob need some prereqs.

You pays your money and you takes yer choice.
