Tango do you know which companies specifically are good to go with for the Indian Health Hospitals? I've looked around and can't find any

who said she was seeking medical advice here? She asked a general question, it could be for personal knowledge, or for a school paper, or simply to prove a point to someone who thinks they know it all. You should brush up on your nursing guidelines to know exactly what "giving medical advice" is.... this is not it. If so, then you would have to retract your answer of "strep throat can cause a foul odor coming from the mouth but so can peritonsillar abscess" edit- ( sorry Esme when I re-read my post it comes across as rude... didn't mean for that, meant it more as stating facts)

yes, they have terrible breath if they have the white patchy strep. it's basically infective sores with scabs in the back of the throat.

I think you need a new agency! Do a search and see, ER nurses are in need and I've seen people travel with less experience than 16 months. Although you may not have an ABUNDANCE of opportunities, it sounds to me that your recruiter/company is not trying very hard or may just not have access to the jobs. Who are you with? Have you put your application in with more than one company? This is the reason you have to apply with several, to open your options up.

I would think because of the imbalance, less than body requirements... meaning calorie/nutrition intake being low...the patient needs to conserve calories consumed and not increase calorie burning. that's the only way I can think of it directly relating to that nursing diagnosis.

Hey pat just FYI... I'm EXACTLY the same way with getting bored at my job in the same surroundings, politics, people, etc.... but do not have the opportunity to move/travel until my daughter graduates in 2 years.... so I do Agency nursing in addition to my regular STUPID job and it's AWESOME! I get to explore other hospitals and sometimes new areas of nursing if they're desperate, and get a pretty nice extra paycheck. It definitely kills the boredom and makes me tolerate my current situation better.... Good luck :)

Just an idea... maybe he could work for an apartment complex... does he do maintenance/handy stuff too? Maintenance people usually get a free apartment from that complex, and you could pocket the tax free stipend! :)

It's so crazy to me when I read of new grads having this issue in other states. I guess I just never knew this was such an issue... TWO YEARS?!??! That's insane. Pack up your fam and come to Oklahoma or Texas! lol. I know here ALL of the hospitals hire new RNs, it's not even a big deal at all. They have 8-10 week orientations, and even programs to pay for your nursing school by signing 1 or 2 year contracts if you want. Kinda scares me to leave here if there's such a nursing abundance elsewhere...

You need to read the sticky titled pearson vue trick part two... Especially the last several posts, they explain it in detail and one person gave a screen shot of exactly what it says and looks like. Just FYI, it just worked for me.... Good luck!

Oklahoma University is RIDICULOUS with tuition - is there not ANY other nursing program, even ADN you can get into here? I know there are tons.... without putting yourself in serious debt at graduation. OCCC is the #1 two year in the state (pass rate) and it's only around 1000 a semester!!!! of course, that's just the program itself but still! at $70-ish dollars a credit hour, it's still not expensive including any concurrent prerequisites. If your dead set on BSN, you can always bridge after getting your RN it is very simple to get into the RN-BSN programs and you will be able to work as a nurse while going to school :) Good luck!!

i take mine this saturday the 22nd.... i graduated LAST MAY lol, yes 8 months ago... so i'm getting a little nervous. i usually have alot of confidence in my knowledge base, but reading about so many people that are smart but failed, worrying me a bit. anyway, i started yesterday with the saunders study mode. hoping to do it every night this week after work - maybe i can get to 1500 or 2000 by testing day. I have been an LPN for 13 years.... I am also taking NCLEX RN next week.... I'm wondering the same thing! I can't see how the PN could possibly be harder... These RN practice questions are much more thought provoking. I personally think most of the PN questions are common sense, except meds of course. I hope it's not as hard as I'm stressing it out to be!! Everyone keeps twlling me my LPN experience will hurt me on the test, im like thanks alot people! Hello! I could use some help, hoping there are some CA nurses on here that either know the answer to this question or can point me to the person that does. Is it a true statement that in 1984, someone could sit for NCLEX without any nursing education? There is a nurse claiming that she did not go to nursing school, and took boards "back when you could just walk in and take it because they were so desperate". I'm having a hard time believing this for several reasons... A. My grandmother was an LVN in CA and my mom distinctly remembers helping her through school back in 1970's.... doubtful that she did that for fun, plus if no school was required I'm assuming she would've chosen to take RN why stop at LVN? B. The only distinct info I can find is that in 1978 CA started requiring CEU's for licensure renewal.... Seems odd they would require education to renew but not for the original license. C. This persons name is not coming up with any matches in the CA licensure database... But I tested it with my grandmothers name and it didn't show her either so I'm not sure how accurstevit is or what's going on with that. I called the CA board of nursing but got transferred a couple times and no one seemed to have a concrete answer or regulation to reference. They were very nice, just not very informative. I was told to call the National Council of State something or other.... Left a message but never heard back. If anyone has information or can point me to a website or person that has it... Would greatly appreciate it!!
