Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

Published

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

Just a reminder, folks: the website Terms of Service (TOS) prohibit posting staff/faculty names (and even initials) in the forums. I have edited a couple of posts in this thread. I appreciate your cooperation!

Oooh good luck to you ladies!

Thank you! I met another Riverside applicant tonight in my developmental psychology class! She has a 4.0 pre-req GPA and she took the TEAS already. Her score was a 54% so she is taking it again on the 28th. At first I was little discouraged when I heard her TEAS score but I'm now more determined to get a passing score! But 76 applicants isn't too bad, my guess was they received approx.100 applications.

These 4.0 gpa's are killing me! Haha

And that 76 is total so that includes everyone who is and is not getting an interview. I feel like my chances are pretty good but I just don't know. I really do wish everyone the best

I've heard rumors that's this TEAS V test is harder than the previous ones and admissions should expect lower scores. Don't get discouraged though I'm still trucking along! Lol

Yes, I think you are a competitive applicant, especially since you have completed all the steps. I think the TEAS will weed out a good number of people.

Thanks for the encouragement! This TEAS has been making me pretty anxious! I have chalked it up to, if I don't pass it next Tuesday then I'll study harder and take it again and re-apply for January. My little one turns one next Thursday and is healthy and I will still have a full-time job that I enjoy. So there is so much to be thankful for rather than get hung up over an entrance exam. With all that said, I know if I don't pass Tuesday, I'll be slightly upset (lol) but this too shall pass. I know I'm an educated, hard working woman no matter what the TEAS V says! :)

P.S. I'm still rooting for you!

I am rooting for y'all as well! It is a hard test and it covers a lot. If I don't get in I'll just keep reapplying until I do! I'm glad I have made friends on here :)

hgt219 - did you take your TEAS V at Riverside or Sentara? I remember you mentioning that one allows a calculator and the other doesn't. I wonder why they are so picky about that. I took the HESI and a calculator was allowed.

I took the test at a psi testing center because Sentara doesn't do on-site testing anymore. I know that you are not supposed to use a calculator for the TEAS V....but it was given to me. Sometimes I think that was just God's favor with me but who knows. I was just shocked that I got to use one. I was prepared to go without
