Riverside Community College Spring 2012 Applicants

Published

Did anyone else apply to the RCC program for Spring 2012? Does anyone know if we will have to wait until January to find out whether or not we get in? I'm hoping they will let us know by December. This waiting is torture!

Congratulations to everyone who got in!!! I am a first semester nursing student at RCC. Don't worry about the math exam that they administer at orientation. It is very basic info. Also if you are on the alternate list be sure to show up to intake and orientation. They added 7 people from the alternate list during the first day of class and more were added at orientation. So you have a really good chance of getting in!!! Enjoy your rest, because once Feb 13th rolls around you want be able to rest until the semester is over!!!

Lovell,

With 100 points, you're required to tutor us and be our leader. That's an awesome accomplishment.

"Kennedy's Mommy" thank you so much for the info, you helped ease some of my stress.

Haha, I'm not sure I'm worthy of that, but I would gladly join a study group with you all!

Also, I have an appointment this morning at the health center to review my immunization records. I will let you all know any pertinent information I find out.

Kennedy's Mommy!! I was told that I was on the alternate list as well however the enrollment specialist said that it was okay that I didn't attend the intake day since I live in Sacramento. Do you think it's a bad idea for me to miss this day? Do they add any people on that day?...I was told that he would email me the packet that will be discussed during intake day. I will be going to orientation day for sure, though. What do you think??? Hope to hear from you soon! :)

Are there any guys on here that got in besides me?

Congrats to everybody who got in, I was fortunate enough to also be accepted in to the program. I cannot wait to start the semester and get this show on the road. Wolf I am also 1 of hopefully many guys in the program.

Just an FYI for anyone going to Health Services, be sure to print out and bring that health form that was included in the acceptance email. I didn't bring mine and no one would look at my immunization record without it. I had to reschedule for next tuesday.

Is anyone else already done with thier health clearance form? Are we supposed to just hold on to it until Intake day?

What are we suppose to do before the intake day? Which option is cheaper for student without health insurance: RCC health services, San Bernardino county health service, or a medical clinic? Is it safe to store our immunization record online? Do you have any recommendation as to where I can get a CPR license? Should I just wait for the intake day to have my questions answer?

1. Print out the immunization form.

2. Get vaccinated or titers, TB skin test, physical exam., etc.

3. Get CPR license

4. Scan or fax the immunization form to the specific site (should I wait)

Things to bring to the intake day. My assumption:

1. Acceptance form

2. Social security card

3. Government issued picture ID

4. Be prepared to take the math exam

tl999, I think its safe to get started with your immunizations/titers before intake day if you know which ones you need. I think your best bet would be to go to RCC health services since they are familiar with the paperwork and the process, although I do not know if it is the cheapest option. I am going to hold off on scanning my immunization form until after intake day though. I believe it is safe to store your immunization record online since the form does not contain any personal information like your social security number and the information should only be released to the hospitals we go to for clinicals.

I took my CPR class at RCC over the summer. It was a 4 hour class and cost $65. It was very straight forward and something I would recommend. Here is the link to register: http://www.rcccommunityed.com/index.cfm?method=ClassListing.ClassListingDisplay&int_category_id=4&int_sub_category_id=3

Also, I was under the impression that the math exam won't be given until orientation day and that we will receive a study guide on intake day.

Thank you, that eases my anxiety.
