Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!
Ok then thanks for the heads up! At work we just use automatic ones, but with residents with super high b.p we have to do it manually! I kinda like doing manually, but it just saves soo much more time doing it automatic. But thanks Tbotbo!I wouldn't bother buying a bp cuff. You get one in your supply bag, learn to take a manual BP then you do t really use it again. In clinical they have automatic ones that you use.
I'll look at Payless. I was looking at Zappos, and J.C Penny so far nothing! But I'll look thereI bought my shoes from Payless. They are Champion brand and have a tempurpedic lining. Super comfortable and only $20. They had a small pink logo on them. I bought white nail polish and painted over it. Easy.
As a former rcc grad ... I suggest spending the money and get some good quality shoes ...I bought danskos and they lasted ... They are pretty expensive but worth it.... Supply bags don't come from the bookstore u order them thru the program ..... Get a good stethoscope u will have for a long time !!! Good luck prepare to have zero free time for the next 2 years!!!!!
Some people don't show immunity after the hep B series. Contact the nursing school and tell them what's up. There is a paper you can fill out instead as long as you had the hep B series recently and have your proof of that.
Hey everyone Happy Holidays!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Quick question, does anyone know if you had to have the hep B series recently, or could it have been done when you were a kid(1994)? I went to Kaiser to get my vaccines, and they told me I still had immunity for hep B. I am still waiting on my polio titer though that should arrive by this monday. :-/

Do they know you have immunity because of your titers? Or are they just saying you have immunity because you've have the vaccine? If you have your titer showing immunity you should be okay. I had my titers and didn't have to retake the hep B series.
