Anyone applying for RCC's Fall 2015 Nursing program?

Thought I'd start a thread to communicate about applying, TEAS, etc.

Yes I'm going to buy the coursepoint through there website because I found a 15 percent off coupon for there site if anyone would like it the code is :WD05LCZZ just copy and paste

Thank you!!

Hello everyone! Are you all feeling as busy as I do? I guess we might as well get used it! Yes, I felt like intake was sooo much information!! It almost feels like preparing for nursing school is harder than trying to get in!!...lol I think I'm going to pick the cohort for the hospital in Moval since it's closest to my house. I think there is a selection for A and B. My 1st choice B since I like the idea of Monday off. There is still so much to do between now and August 31st. Is everyone going to nursing boot camp? Also, FYI..don't forget to re-submit your application to RCC for Fall 2015 if you didn't attend Spring session. We were emailed to do so this afternoon so just a heads up for anyone who may have missed the email. Also, I was wondering if you guys can help me. I was thinking of getting a new laptop for school. Do you have any suggestions? I was considering Mac, but I hear there's problems with using the downloads? Does anyone know?

Yes lol it was definitely a lot of information. My mom's a nurse and she told me don't stress to much just take it one day at a time and prepare a little bit at a time and we will be fine. I have a Mac book Pro I bought 4 years ago it's practically brand new and I bought it from BestBuy open box for 900. I got a pretty good deal for it and I love it. I've never had any problems with downloads. Sometimes downloading problems may be due to the browser you may be using, but that's an easy fix. I would definitely say go with a Mac. I'm Pro Mac and Anti Windows lol, but it's all personal preference as well. Check out BestBuy for their open box deals they are great!! 😄

Between getting all my immuniations, physical, book researching, etc... I'm so tired! Has anyone taken nvn55? I'm glad I took it because it prepared me how the nursing instructors run their courses. Luckily I learned early on is to always stay ahead and on top of assignments. So easy to fall behind. If you you are unprepared or one min late you will be sent home.

Oh I'm beyond tired! I haven't taken Nvn55 but thanks for the good advice. The program is very structured and disciplined and for good reason! They have one of the top programs, plus I think they want to remind us just how lucky we are to be chosen for fall. 80 out of 400+ applicants is AMAZING! I'm so proud of us all

Aww your very welcome! Lol yes I just love apple. I had to give up my iPhone however to try an android and I love it so much better haha. But I have a Mac book and an iPad, and I loved the iPhone it was just time for something new lol. Oh no not the husband! Anti-apple, wait until he gets his hands on your laptop, he won't want to put it down lol. 😄😄

Also, if you guys are looking for all black shoes, Skechers has an awesome line of work shoes with memory foam all black sneakers w/laces and without. Check out Kohls, JC Penney or Skechers store direct. There's an outlet store in Moreno Valley if anyone is interested

@msyoung- Thanks so much for the coupon code! That's like $100 off right?? Does our course points add up to 780? (Insane)

@Tash-I want Cohort A and RMC, mainly because I am trying to work a few days (I am a waitress) and I really want to be able to work Thursday nights.

@Sammy- I love love love love love my macbook. Love it. And, they last SO long. They are pricey, but there should be some great sales coming soon for students/back to school!

I am going to go to the bootcamp! It sounds like it's going to be great. Mynephew is due the 17th...so I hope he stays in there a few extra days or comes a little early :)

Will you all be getting priority? I have to take my measles shot on Monday, and I asked -------------- (the lady that only works Mondays) yesterday if I can get priority even if I have to take my measles #2 on August 6th and she said yes.. So that's cool, I thought they might not let that happen but maybe they do because we can't control how long we have to wait in between shots?

Has anyone looked more into University of Phoenix? I was really considering it yesterday.. but after hours and hours of reading everywhere, their accreditation scares me.. and if you notice, on the bottom of their flyer it says one of their accreditation was put on notice.. So since I want to continue on and get my masters I don't think I am going to do that route, even though the timeline is awesome.

Oh! And another thing on the topic of shoes, I got mine on Payless.com today, they are on sale and I got an extra 15% off because they are the slip resistant black ones...
