Greetings all future RN students. I just wanted to start a thread for any potential applicants who will be applying to riverside city college RN program this September for Spring 2017. Let's all get together on this thread and share experiences as well as answer questions. I know the application period is 6 months away, but it will be here before you know it!
How do you guys feel about commuting to RN school? Would any of you commute if the RN program was 50 miles from your home?
Honestly I would still go if thats the only school that accepts me. I do not want to waste another semester just waiting for the next application date. I mean its only two years, how bad can it be?
Mt Sac is a 57 mi commute for me snd RCC is 40 mi.I'm comfortable with both. The nearest program for me would be MSJC, but they admit in the fall only and I'm not losing a semester.
RIO HONDO is 50 miles from me. But I would hope to get into their bridge program. I would be willing to commute if gas is manageable. It might be a bit difficult to afford gas working 1-2 days a week. I'm trying to cut down on bills and gas would definitely cost a couple hundreds a month. Hoping for the best.
Yay! Congrats on your Teas, that's solid score! chemistry is not in the gpa :) i also got a B in Chem .. it was bugging me cuz a&p 1 & 2 and micro I got As in. I was told those are the science pre req classes that they calculate. As for your general education classes the list is on the RCC website, English, humanities and all that's. this is going to be the longest couple of months!
Yeah when you turn in the application, they ask you to submit the paper that you got from the evaluation of your courses. It has all the pre req courses lined up, marked off, with the grade. Probably making it easier on the nursing dept to see everything all cleared and lined up for them. it also has a box marked eligible or ineligible to apply to the nursing program. I haven't taken the health math course, and it says I am eligible so that must mean we can take it later. It's only a one unit course, so it must be no big deal to take during the nursing program. Have you guys heard anything about Chaffey vs RCC?
Hey I had a question that I forgot to ask about Chaffey. Did you submit a letter about hardship or verification of cna or Lvn hours along with your application? Does that factor towards the points? Thank you.
