Overall i love the price and convenience of the program but i wish more things had a set deadline. So many of us are waiting around on acceptance or denial emails. Not to mention the emails are vague.......

Yea I hated the wait but from what I understand rcc just gets so many more applicants than any other ADN program I’ve applied to. Also that while you guys are waiting for acceptance S still deals with everyone in the nursing program with registration difficulties for next semester etc and a lot of other things I’ve noticed just from observation the last couple of weeks. Doesn’t help that J is on leave atm too.l

They have it honestly as 40 cep and 40 ADN but they probably give themselves a gap for extras just in case something happens. But each clinical instructor only gets 10 students and we have 8 clinical instructors split between us all. But only 4 teach us regularly as full time faculty if that helps make sense.

Quite a big gap from 44 to 100

Hey guys I’m currently in the cep program and just saw that this thread had been started. If you guys do have any questions can message me on here if needed about the complio process and how financial aid worked for us for Fullerton at least. I’ll try to answer or give my email via private message for those who would like. But we’re going into our final weeks so will be hectic.

Just to go off Nikern to let it be known that we have only had 6 people drop from the cep cohort. Also that with the fall 2019 group we got a whole new curriculum so somethings were a trial at times. But no program can be perfect, I’ve come to learn that with rcc. Some things you don’t like and some things are great, but I think that can happen with any program.

Do you know where I can go to get all these shots in one day? As I've told others it has been years since I've gotten any kind of shot and I don't even know if my primary physician is practicing anymore. Would I just go to RCC and get it done there or perhaps at one of those clinics at CVS?

See my response above. Like I said, I don’t know if it’s right!

I got an alternate spot and am trying to start the immunization portion, but I am at a loss for what to do. I asked my doc for titers on MMR and Hep B just to start. Has anyone who received the acceptance or alternate letters and signed up for complio yet? I have to look for immunization records, but I am 30 and havent seen them since I graduated HS in 2007!! I am crossing my fingers that my mom still has them.

Try going to your high school or school district. I went to my school district and was able to get a copy of my immunizations

Why do you think CEP cutoff was 70? Do you know anyone who got in with 70?

It seems like the scores of the people that got accepted are in their mid 70s, S did say they had a lot more applicants for the spring so that probably made it more competitive than the fall

A couple of questions to the peeps who got in:

1) Does BOG waiver still cover nursing tuition for the classes that are at RCC?

BONUS: I'm terrible at math, but if my calculations are correct and BOGW is taken into consideration, is the CEP program total to about... $16,000?

2) Is there a time frame as to when CSUSB will be sending out their formal application where we have to send out all the stuff that we need to send per Alex/S?

3)Do you plan to hold a PT/FT job while going to school? Really debating hard if I should just quit my 9-5 that I loathe so much but actually pays my bills. On the plus side my boss is really cool and really doesn't care what I do as long as my work gets done.

NikeRN,

The BOG waiver still covers tuition at RCC, you will need to apply for financial aid through CSUSB for the classes for the CEP portion. I was told when filling out your FAFSA for the next school year to include CSUSB AND RCC as the reporting schools.

You had mentioned questions as to where we can get the shots all at once, the MMR requires 30 days between doses(you have to take 2), and if you didn't have the Hep B shots previously you will need to wait between doses of Hep B vaccine as well. TDaP is only 1 shot, as is the Flu. So you could get 4 shots done at once if you wanted, I think....you need a pregnancy test before the MMR shot as well as it is a live vaccine...plus your TB test, you will need 2, I think. Call for an appointment at the health center at RCC, they will go over your history and plan out your shots and anything else you need.

Good luck!!

If you went to high school in California they keep record of your immunizations. You should be able to pay and get a copy from either your high school or school district.

Does anyone know if we need to get our CPR certification done before starting school? It wasn’t mentioned in the email but I have seen it on the website.
