Rio Hondo Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am interested in applying to rio hondo for spring 2018 and so I was wondering if anyone else might be applying there as well? I am planning on taking the TEAS exam really soon and hopefully we can help each other and answer any questions that each one of us might have and we could answer them on this page.

Juliocesarsalad, yes that is correct

Since I do not have an associates degree, I am just still a bit confused on whether or not I have to take the math and english proficiency test because I have taken it at the community college I went to and took the math and english courses that I was placed in so im not sure

I feel like you definitely would have to take the exams. I'm sure they're will be some soon provided that school will be starting soon.

I'm gonna see if there will be any other info sessions I could maybe attend.

Are any of you applying to other schools?

Does anyone have volunteer hours or any kind of certification to get more points? I don't. I wonder if that would put me way below everyone else who does. :(

Araceli24, I do have some volunteering hours that I will be turning in

And so far Rio Hondo is the only school I will be applying for this spring :)

If you have experience you should be a strong candidate. Also, as long as all your pre-reqs are above B's you should have a really good chance of getting in. :)

And they also give you points for other things so that is one thing I like about rio hondo

Hiiiiii! My name is Joanna, I'll be applying for Sprinf 2018 as well.

Teas I got an 87

Science GPA 3.67 overall GPA is 3 point something I don't remember.

I have an AS in a totally irrelevant field but tons of nursing experience that I'm hoping polishes my application lol

If it's anything like Mt. SAC acceptance, that should be a comfortable position in the program. I think a 3.3 or above in the science pre-reqs, with an 80 on the TEAs, 3.0 or above in the cumulative, and an associates is definitely good standing. Anything more such as volunteer experience or higher grades is just icing on the cake.

spring*** lol can't type well with these nails.

Thank you juliocesarsalad, I hope you're right I get anxious thinking of how many other applicants have the same if not better scores.
