Rio Hondo Spring 2018

Published

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am interested in applying to rio hondo for spring 2018 and so I was wondering if anyone else might be applying there as well? I am planning on taking the TEAS exam really soon and hopefully we can help each other and answer any questions that each one of us might have and we could answer them on this page.

And i thought we could all share our statistics so that we know whats coming our way.

Did you happen to go to the information session?

Hello Araceli24, yes I did attend a information session

I totally missed it. It's so hard keeping track of all the schools I'm trying to apply to.

I was on their website and saw their application and wanted to fill it out. Would you be able to give me any info that was given at the info session?

For example the application itself, where it asks for college it only give you the option for one school, what if you attend various?

Thanks in advance! :)

Araceli24, so basically in the info session the counselor just went through the basics such as the deadline date and all the paperwork that must be submitted along with the TEAS results and official transcripts but since she was running out of time she was not able to cover most things which really left alot of students with many questions still and so she just went over what was on the rio hondos adn website. I am not completely sure what you would have to do in your case but I would recommend you call this number and ask for Pat she is really nice and will help answer your questions. 562-463- 3226

Hi Jennifer,

my name is Julio. I was planning on applying to Rio Hondo as well. My first choice is Mt. SAC but I thought it would be wise to choose two schools. I hope the teas went well! I scored a 90 although my reading was at 80. I feel like this application is ambiguous since the distribution of points are not given nor a threshold to get accepted. Have you heard anything about the weekly schedule for Rio Hondo? I know Mt. SAC is just a few days a week.

Hello Juliocesarsalad, yeah i was hoping that the information session would cover the point system but unfortunetly they did not go over how many points each category was worth. I have not heard anything about the weekely schedule, right now I am trying to get all the paperwork ready for the application.

Have any of you taken the math and english proficiency test at rio hondo yet?

Is that needed if you don't have an Associates or bachelor degree? I hVe an associates the highest math I've taken is Stats and English 103 which I think is composition and critical thinking?

I see. It sounds like the information session was brief. I read that a bachelor's would exempt me from taking the proficiency tests. I believe it is the same for an associate's degree.

Araceli24, it is only needed if you do not have an associates degree
