This is a thread for Fall 2018 future ADN students at Rio Hondo. Share experiences, stats, or general questions before application opens/closes.

Thanks so much for the info! I hope we hear any day now or by next week for sure. Crossing my fingers for everyone!

How did you find out about the 4/27 orientation? I couldn't find info anywhere on the nursing page about the prospected date and time for orientation! But it seems like classes would start 6/4/18. Definitely the earliest for most!

When I submitted my application at RIO, the lady who took it gave me the information about what to do next. Which had info on the orientation date and the health requirements.

Hey guys I have an app that tells me what I have coming in the mail for the day, it also scans the envelope.

I have a letter coming from Rio Hondo Health & Science Department.

I'm not getting ahead of myself, but maybe everyone should check their mail/emails today!

On 4-11-2018, I received a letter in the mail from Rio Hondo. I was excited to open it only to find out it was a letter stating I did not meet all the requirements. I received my B.S. in Cell and Developmental Biology at CSUF and was told by our biological science department that BIOL 362 (Mammalian Physiology) is equivalent to human physiology. Unfortunately, the letter stated they don't accept mammalian physiology instead of human physiology. Human physiology at CSUF was a lower course number and did not count towards credit for the biology major. I wish all of you guys the best of luck! I'm hoping that your letter that is coming in the mail is an acceptance letter and not anything else.

^ that's exactly why I'm not getting ahead of myself. I've heard of this happening before, I don't know why they don't email something like that instead of getting peoples' hopes up:(

I will update on what the letter was when my mails comes!

Let us know what it says! I have that same mail app and didn't see anything coming my way today :/ I live in Chino if that matters.

With my luck (and it being Friday the 13th), it will be one of those disqualification letters.

I can't think of anything I did wrong, but we shall see..

You have great stats! It probably is acceptance letters going out! Good luck :)

I've been provisionally accepted!:woot:

Just a reminder, my stats were:

- AA-T degree

- 4.0 science GPA

- 1000+ hrs of work as an EMT (still active EMT)

- 74.7 TEAS (1st attempt)

- 5 Life Experiences (not sure if they took them all)

OMG! I have been provisionally accepted into Rio Hondo College!!

Here's my stats

- Bachelor's degree

- 4.0 Science GPA / 3.5 Overall GPA

- 93% Teas Score

- 3 Life experiences

I didn't have any volunteer hours or medical-related job experiences.
