Rio Hondo College Spring 2019

I couldn't find any threads for the Rio Hondo Spring 2019 (due 8/27~10/1) cohort, so I'm starting a new thread here. It's my first time applying and not sure how good my chances are. Would love to hear from everyone who also applied! I'm told the selection process begins in October, and they will let us know by November since the first advisement meeting is scheduled for November 9th.

I'm waiting for replies from other programs as well! But Rio Hondo is giving us so little time... we need to reply by Nov 2 if we're attending or not? Can we attend the meeting while waiting for other programs that we've applied to?

Thank you so much! Congrats to all of you!! I'm on the same boat as instax. I've aplied to cypress, Santa Ana, saddleback, and Glendale. I'm doing it by distance. First choice is cypress then rio/sac, saddleback, and Glendale. I'm just so grateful that I got into at least one program!

Totally understandable! That is why I chose RHC as one of my top choices; it's one the closest to my home. Well, the best of luck to you all!

Same! I didn't get into any programs when I applied for the Fall 2018 semester so i'm pretty stoked to finally get into one! I'll give Rio a call tomorrow to ask about the fees and let you guys know what they say!

The Fire class is $25 (cash or check) and the uniform fitting is $45 (cash, credit card, or check).

Hey everyone! First and foremost I want to congratulate everyone who has already been accepted into the program and I am excited for those who are still yet to hear back! I just received my acceptance letter in the mail this morning! I am so stoked to meet all you guys for those of you who decide to attend RHC.

Yes I know, haha, but I was talking about if going to the mandatory meeting would mean that I'm officially committing myself to Rio Hondo, since I applied to other schools as well and haven't heard back from them yet. But Rio Hondo is giving us so little time to consider since we have to reply by tomorrow

I just called them! They said that their uniform lady will only be there on the day of the meeting, so if you're not sure yet then you would have to contact her yourself later on for a uniform fitting.

However, they also said that they would like to know ASAP if we're going to commit or not because there's a lot of students on the waitlist. It sucks that they're not giving us much time to decide :(

Are you going to wait to get your uniform? And will the uniform lady still be on campus later if we choose to get fitted at a later time or we'd have to go to a store?

Also, are you planning to get your fire card?

Hmmm, well we do have a week left & apparently Santa Ana College should be releasing their admission decisions soon as well.

I'm pretty sure we can't hold off on the fire safety fee, so I'll pay that since it might be required for other ADN programs anyways. But I'll hold off on the uniform until most of the programs get back to me.

The lady on the phone said that after the advisement meeting we'd have to contact the uniform lady ourselves, so I'm assuming that she won't be on campus any other day than next Friday
