RIO HONDO ADN Summer/FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

I have not seen a thread for people who applied for the upcoming Summer/fall start at Rio Hondo so wanted to create one. I know the deadline for the applications just passed but feel free to post stats or questions that you may have. Goodluck to everyone :- )

I am also curious on how it works when admitted into other programs as well. Does anyone have any information on this? For anyone who applied to other schools, I've read that Santa Ana college will send emails out by April 23rd and Saddleback College May 1st.

I have read of someone who got accepted, and then gave up her spot even after getting fitted for uniforms because she got accepted somewhere else. So.. IDK. That's what I have read. I applied to 5 schools total but Rio Hondo was my first choice.

Hey guys anybody get an email back from -----------? I sent her an email saying I will attend mandatory meeting but I get an automatic response. I just wanna make sure she gets it because we will lose our spot if we don’t reply by April 8th

Hi,

I was provisionally accepted and all I got back to my response was an automatic email also. I havent gotten anything else. Maybe they just dont send confirmations.

I think next we just have to make sure we get that zoom code in our email before April 8th, if not we have to contact -------- and let her know asap.

OK great. Thanks guys!

When I initially emailed ------, I included a question. ------ responded to my question and that was it. I am guessing the Zoom link will be sent out sometime early next week.

I would say some relatively good news! There has been a group of nursing students that has been in communication with the governor about nurses not being able to complete clinicals because of covid19.

The governor just passed a waiver, with specifications, that would make it more feasible for students to complete clinical hours through simulation labs. I understand that CA requires 75% of clinicals at a hospital and 25% in simulation. These requirements could be cut down to 50% each while still meeting criteria of the Board of Nursing and allowing students to continue receiving credit.

I'm excited that CA is finally working to help nursing students out, as this could effect incoming students as well (us). I heard other states, NJ, NY have already started this process. Was worried CA wouldn't.

I know we will find out more in the meeting but wanted to share this.

I got an acceptance email this morning as well! Best of luck to all of you who were provisionally accepted. I haven't made a decision yet as I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of other programs, so crossing my fingers their notices come out before April 8th.

Hello, What other schools are you waiting on?
