Hi,

I have not seen a thread for people who applied for the upcoming Summer/fall start at Rio Hondo so wanted to create one. I know the deadline for the applications just passed but feel free to post stats or questions that you may have. Goodluck to everyone :- )

By the way I had a 2.5 GPA in my BA. I went through alot personally during that time but ended the last several semesters with high grades and got As in my prereqs. For future people who may see this thread, dont let poor grades from your past deter you! Do everything you can to increase your chances.

Now, I am super anxious! LOL

I haven't received an email.. but I know it's just the first day they sent out acceptance "letters". Like you spooder I had bad GPA 2.9, but I had 4.0 on my pre reqs. I hope they see how I've changed. I am happy for both of you guys! ?

Hello, I am new to this post/allnurses but I also just got an email this morning saying I've been accepted as well! I was worried about the program being postponed or the acceptance letter getting delayed due to the current situation, but so happy to hear back!

I wasn't sure if I was going to get in because my science pre-reqs and TEAS scores are not great (B's in science and 79 on TEAS), but I have CNA work experience as well as volunteer hours, a B.A (and multiple other degrees), need to work, and 2nd language. So I guess my work experience/background helped. Good luck to everyone else!

Alicia 79% on TEAS is a great score. The score is not based out of 100. 79 is Advanced on a TEAS exam. That’s what I got too

Hey guys!

So I got an in as an Alternate! I am still grateful that I got accepted as an alternate. It tells me that I need to email before April 8th, 2020 that I will be attending the mandatory advisement getting on April the 10th. I went ahead and emailed an I got a message saying "

Following the CDC mandates for COVID-19 Rio Hondo College is currently closed through April 19. I am monitoring my email.

Rio Hondo College will be on Spring Break from Monday, March 23, 2020 to Friday, March 27, 2020.

Did anyone else get this message? Please let me know! thanks!

Congratulations!! That is great news, happy for you. I got the same exact email. When I emailed them back, I also got that automated email message from Roxanne. I downloaded and signed up for Zoom to be ready for the video meeting. I'm also reviewing the sheet that was given to us when we dropped off the application.
