Hi everyone,
I currently go to Mt. Sac at the moment and will finish all my ADN pre-requistes for Rio Hondo this summer. As for the selection criteria they use overall, I feel that my application will be highly competitive. However, my definition of competitiveness is probably different from others. I was wondering for anyone who currently attends or previously attended the ADN program at Rio Hondo to state your applicant profile (overall GPA, science GPA, volunteer hours, any previous degree, and experience). Thanks, it would help me and many others who are hopeful in entering the ADN program at Rio Hondo College. :)
Wow that's great news! Congrats Andrew_guzman12! What an awesome surprise-you're in!
It gives the rest of us an inkling of hope. I wonder why all of a sudden they told you now you're in, when they initially said otherwise? Makes me think the person answering the phones isn't giving due diligence making sure they provide the correct information. This process feels like a mental fitness test and makes waiting for your number to be called at the DMV feel like a breeze! LOL!
I don't know if I consider to a closer school from my home are pcc or elac. I was waiting for 2years to get into pcc RN program but this year I applied to 3 schools: pcc, RHC and elac. I'm still waiting hearing back from pcc.
Those are the schools I applied to, too! At least you for sure have a spot!
Hi aloengWhat does it means provisionally? Because today I just got call and she said I was chosen as provisionally
In my letter, it stated I was provisionally accepted as well. This is what it says about provisional acceptance:
"This means your status for the first 4 weeks of class is secured. If space becomes available for you to join the second 4 weeks of clinical then you will become a part of the clinical group. If you are unable to join the second 4 weeks for summer then you will be guaranteed placement for Spring 2014."
Sorry for the late response, but I hope it helped some of you out. Basically you're admitted to the first 4 weeks of the summer, but you need to see if someone drops out to see if you can take the remaining 4 weeks. If not, you'll have to wait until Spring 2014 to resume.

Wow. I can't believe with your stats that you were only chosen provisionally!! This must have been a really competitive pool of students. Thanks for clearing that up :) as of now, I'm not in at all but they said I am very close to provisional status if people drop out... Hoping for the best.

Sorry if that came off wrong, but earlier in this thread we discussed accreditation...
