Rio Hondo ADN Nursing Program

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone,

I currently go to Mt. Sac at the moment and will finish all my ADN pre-requistes for Rio Hondo this summer. As for the selection criteria they use overall, I feel that my application will be highly competitive. However, my definition of competitiveness is probably different from others. I was wondering for anyone who currently attends or previously attended the ADN program at Rio Hondo to state your applicant profile (overall GPA, science GPA, volunteer hours, any previous degree, and experience). Thanks, it would help me and many others who are hopeful in entering the ADN program at Rio Hondo College. :)

Hello,

I've been looking into a few nursing programs and came across Rio Hondo Community College. I have a 3.4 in the sciences, an AA degree, a bachelors in business (change of career), low family income, I am the first generation college student, and can provide a statement for difficult family circumstance. I lack volunteer hours although I am applying to a few hospital volunteer programs currently. Given the stats I have now, does anyone know what my chance of acceptance is? I may wait to finish the volunteer hours before applying, but I am not sure. Thank you!

Hello,

I'm in the program right now. I had a 3.0 in the sciences and an AS degree, however I qualified for all of the other extra points such as volunteering, low family income, CNA degree with work experience, etc. Given the fact that you have a bachelors and working on some volunteering hours, I think you have a shot at it. Apply to multiple schools and good luck!

I am concerned that the lack of volunteer hours will work against me and cost me admission. Do you recommend applying still? I hope my GPA, BA degree and a few of the special circumstances that bring in points, are enough.

can someone please tell me what provisionally accepted means?? i thought i was in but i dont know....

It means you were accepted! Of course you still have to submit health info and whatever else they ask but if everything is clear then you are in! If I may ask, when did you receiver your letter? Also what were your stats like (gpa science and overall, volunteer hours..). I am waiting to see if I get in too.

teas was 73%

science gpa 3.3

im a cna so i sent in my CNA card

i have 200+ volunteer hours at a hospital

i have a letter of rec from my anatomy and physiology professor
