does anyone have any suggestions which would be better?
take chem 130 and bio 156 at the same time (16 weeks through rio)
or
split them up and do 1 at a time accelerated (8 weeks each through rio)?
i work full time and am a single parent, so study time is an issue.
I took BIO 156 at Rio in 8 wks while working full time and I was also taking other class. I made decision after that BIO class not to ever take science class online, especially in shorter format. I spent probably about 20 hrs per week on bio class only and I only made average B. This summer, I had CHM130 at Glendale in person, and it was 5 wks class. We had 5 exams and I only studied 3-4 hours a day before each and easily made an A. Go figure.

They only let you accelerate with instructor permission. You still work at your own pace ( kind of ) as there are certain assignments due each week. The essay parts they will not grade until they are due ( unless you have instructor permission.) But of course you want to retain the information so you want to make sure you don't rush it... rushing does not equal a good grade at Rio as the final exams are on EVERYTHING you were prob not tested on during the course. 8 weeks require two chapters each week. Two tests or quizzes and sometimes two essays it all depends on where things fall. Careful because the lab quizzes are timed!!
Oh I did 156 in 8 weeks and it was a TON of writing!!! Between sometimes two lab reports and quizzes and essay questions due on Wed and Sat it was crazy busy. But do able.
