I am sure there is more than just me starting in April! I was looking for some people so that we could get to know each other before School starts...
I know MrsRaisingKane is... Is anyone else starting with me???
Hope to see you here soon!!!!:redpinkhe
Erica, usually the first day of any class/lab is just mechanics of the class. Syllabus, what is expected of you, what you should expect. Dynamics of the class, etc. I am sure that since days is accelerated it will have some type of learning, technique's in it. You'll have to call me once you get home.
Anyone going to the evening classes? I had to switch to evening because of family issues. (They didn't lie when they said you got more financial aid either) I now only have to pay the school $198 the first day and not the monthly 306 like they had originally said for days! I am so excited. The evening orientation was packed! It was a full house.
I need to invest in a good book bag, ugh! I am such a sucker though I hate the wheels. Ah well, I'll have to break down I guess!
Hope to see some of you tuesday!
We had 48 people in our orientation and said there will be 62 of us in class. I don't think there were that many chairs in the lab room so that's why I was confused about what we would be doing in there all day. I know we'll get the syllabus and we'll get our books on Tuesday.
I had such a hard time finding a rolling backpack that wasn't Dora or Batman!! I finally found one at Walmart; they had two different styles!
Good luck to all of you starting this week.
Sometimes things can change rapidly with schedules, classes, etc. This apparently seems to be true with majority of nursing schools such as this.
The biggest issues seem to be with clinical sites. Remember there are so many new schools out there that are competing for clinical sites. Things will normally work out, so don't easily excel to an agravated state.
Your first nursing instructors (Lisa "ding", Kathy, Chitsi and a few others), you meet will give you a lifetime of rememberance of them. They are truely an asset of the Institution. Put an extra effort into excelling the first term, it will pay off later during the next 2 semesters. Especially the nutrition class, which will surface over and over throughout the program. (vitamins, foods, etc towards the nursing profession).
Take care, Have a good semester.
Ok, so I did my homework in A&P tonight, I am so happy that I chose to go to evening classes. I spent 2 hours working on my chapters, even though I have a few (like 5) a&p's under my belt! LOL between sinclair nursing program, medic and MA. I couldn't have done it and worked to pay my tuition and raised three kids. I'd have been loopy by the end of first term!
How is everyone?

It's our last weekend of freedom!!!
I bought a rolling backpack yesterday. It's probably not the most stylish thing but I'm not breaking my back trying to carry all those books they showed us at orientation! I wonder how we're able to start in the lab on our first day of school... I guess we'll cover handwashing, putting on gloves, etc?? Any ideas?
I can't wait for Tuesday!!!!
