Hi all,

Well I have been lurking on this forum for a while now, and fully aware of the retrogression that is in place. I have prepared myself for the fact that it will be a long time before I could get to the states, maybe even 7 years..

However, I am just reading todays nursing standard, and there is an ad stating in big letters " BEAT THE RETROGRESSION "...and a recruitment company is now recruiting for nurses to go there, saying if they have CGFNS & NCLEX they qualify for fast track, and will get them there in 9-15 months..???? I now dont understand.

I have just emailed them, to ask if this is a blatant lie, as I am now confused with all the conflicting information I am recieving. Aparently this recruitment company isnt an agency as such, as they put you in direct contact with the hospital..and it also looks like you would have to commit to an 18 month - 24 month contract..

I guess I just dont know what to believe any more..

There is no way to beat the retrogression. Fast track hasn't been around for a couple of years. Unless they are bringing staff over on another visa then for most it is the green card and you are stuck in retrogression. Shame on them

Thats the thing SD, they are offering green card on their website and for family, its all newly updated and advertised...

Please report them to the US Embassy in your country. Simple as that.

There is no agency that issues visas, it is all done by the US government and the US has been under a retrogression for more than two years as it is. And there is no taking cuts in front of others that are waiting.

And a recruitment company is an agency, pure and simple. This just means that they are not going to be doing anything other that putting you in touch with a hospital for the lovely sum of about $10,000 that they will want to get paid. They are not going to be the employer. And this one is shameful at best.

And because of the recession, it is going to be very hard for any facility to prove that they are unable to hire an American for the job as well.

And they are also giving very bad and very old information as well. The CGFNS exam is no longer needed for 46 out of 50 states and it will not get one to the US any faster or any different. That exam is strictly for weeding out nurses when the NCLEX exam was required to be written in the US and was not offered out of the US.

They also forgot to mention the English exams as well as the Visa Screen Certificate. Most definitely do not trust a word that they are saying, they are not doing anything at all legal for the US. And I am most definitely sure that they are going to have a very large cancellation fee once you sign with them. That is where they are expecting to get their money since green cards are years out.

I hate liars like this that are not being truthful. They belong in the Hall of Shame here.

Current processing times for the rest of the world is 2005 and it hasn't moved for a few months. They have no control over GC as it is done with the government and approval these days with the 2 service centers that deal with nurses is taking over 12 months and you can not fast track I140 through approval

They are really advertising falsely and giving false hope

Agency/recruiters can promise all they want but the truth of the matter is we are still in retrogression and no more fast track visa for non specialized skilled nurses this time.:twocents:

And just to add to this:

Nurses are normally fast-tracked when there are visas available for the green card, but that has not been the case in more than two years so they are just blatantly lying or have not changed their ad in more than two years. And they are not going to be fast-tracked for years to come.

When you have American nurses that are out of work, then one is not going to be bringing over foreign nurses.

Ok, it looks like its another "decietful " ad, I will be calling them this week to find out more though. I will then report them, thanks for advice.

There are no visas available at this time to fast-track anyone. Specialized or non-specialized.

And a retrogression is still a retrogression.

Please keep us posted on what you find out.

And you can always contact a reporter there for one of the newspapers or radio stations to do an expose on this wonderful company that is making promises that they most definitely cannot keep.

You may wish to notify the NMC as well.

Suzanne - I take this opportunity to respond to your message as quoted above. I am a nurse working in the United States and as i was going through the threads I came across this one which caught my attention - for the only reason that I came to the United States in 2008 through UniHealth America which is a recruitment company (not an agency as you mention) on the BEAT RETROGRESSION program. I did not know much about US immigration in the process I have learned a lot.

Suzanne you are incorrect in saying that such visa's do not exist - they do and they are non immigrant visas which allow a nurse to work in the United States. The entire process was very smooth - I did require a VisaScreen certificate upfront as it is submitted with the petition, the approval took believe it or not just 3 months. Another month to get the visa and the next thing me and my family were on the plane to start my job. This is a direct hospital hire and the company UniHealth America did NOT charge me any fees, went out of their way to assist me with the process of endorsing my license, visa interview at the US consulate, housing info etc...I could go on and on. What makes it better is after I completed 3 months of employment at the hospital & a successful orientation the hospital applied for my greencard - so the big difference I WORK IN THE US WHILE I WAIT FOR MY GC!!! I am not the only nurse who came through them, the hospital has 20 nurses hired from the company who are working in this hospital. I have met most of them and they are very happy to make it to the US rather than keep waiting for years.

I am in debt to UniHealth America and I had known this company for 3 years prior to joining them...they are friendly informative & respond promptly.

I do suggest you research before you make such claims on your thread as I would hate to see nurses being misled due to lack of information.
