Hi all,
I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?
I am also applying to 2 other programs:
Loyola's ABSN program
Truman's Associates in Nursing program
I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.
If anyone else is applying to these, please let me know! Thanks & good luck to all.
. Good for you tho it's better to have everything done then waiting last minute. I'm starting everything Thursday :) I'm so excited though to finally be able to start the nursing program in a few months!!Some of the online modules have reading only, but some are reading and then a quiz over the material. They cover things like patient safety and privacy, infection control, hospital policies, reducing medical errors, etc. I am not logged into it right now, but there are between 15 to 20 modules, and I'd say that each one can take from 15 to 40 minutes, depending on length.I will be there Friday! I got an email today that had a basic agenda for Friday and it looks like they'll be going over all the to-do items with us. I just had to get started because I will be out of town for a major portion of August and need everything to be done and signed off on before then.
Hey...Thank you...
I have already submitted my enrollment and registration forms and I am scheduled for Class Registration and New Student Orientation on Wednesday, June 27th from 8:30am to 1:30pm. This was the first date available
As far as I understand I cannot register for classes or do the quizzes after that date right ? I am completely the background check and drug test request online today. Is there anything I am missing ? Any advise ? Thank you
You will receive an email about the online Healthstream quizzes from the university with your login information. They set it up for you and will notify you when it's ready.
Don't forget to order your uniforms. When I went a few weeks ago they said to expect a minimum of 2-3 weeks to get my order in for shirts and pants. The store is great, but they don't have everything in stock all the time. For example, they didn't even have women's Small pants in stock in the brand we need. So don't wait till the last minute on the uniforms.
I suggest to make yourself a good checklist so you don't forget anything! I am super type A so here is my list if it will help you:
-Background check
-Drug test
-Immunizations
-Physical
-Registration/Orientation Day
-Purchase books
-Uniform order
-Shoes
-Computer setup via campus IT dept.
-CPR class
-Healthstream quizzes
-Health insurance
-Final transcripts (if applicable)
Thank you so much ! You are awesome !!!
So my check list would look like this. And I have some questions !!
-Background check --- paid today online
-Drug test - paid today online
-Immunizations - I will need to contact my family doctor
-Physical - Is there any specific form ????
-Registration/Orientation Day - June 27
-Purchase books - No idea which ones - is there any way to know about them ???
-Uniform order - PENDING
-Shoes - PENDING
-Computer setup via campus IT dept. PENDING ( In fact I need to buy one)
-CPR class - I need to renew my CPR Cards
-Healthstream quizzes - Not received yet !!
-Health insurance - Have to get one
-Final transcripts (if applicable) After Summer is ended !
Orientation was interesting and some of the time boring.. I suggest eating breakfast before you go since they didn't give anything till 10am.. O and there are two more classes that are needed :)Term ATSS001 transitional success seminarTerm BTSS002 transitional success seminar(I suggest looking up by full name instead of code because it's easier)Also when u chose classes make sure to have chosen courses for term A that are from 08/27/12-10/18/12 and for term B 10/22/12-12/13/12 since the classes are split into terms..I hope that is helpful :)
hi everyone!
i am currently trying to apply to nursing schools. i already have a b.s but decided to go back for nursing. right now resurrection is my top choice because of their 16 months program. however after reading some negative comments about resurrection, i'm not sure if it would be a good choice anymore. i was wondering if i could get some feed backs from current students who are attending resurrection right now. if you are a current student can you please give me some feed backs about the school. i would like to know if it was worth it. how are the classes at resu? how are the instructors? and if you like going there? if you are a current student please help. i just want to make sure i'm not making the wrong choice.
thank you all!
