Resurrection University Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi all,

I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?

I am also applying to 2 other programs:

Loyola's ABSN program

Truman's Associates in Nursing program

I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.

If anyone else is applying to these, please let me know! Thanks & good luck to all.

FutureNurse, heard anything yet? Ricky, are you closer to choosing a program?

I actually went up there last week to print out my teas scores. I didnt have much time to study the guide thoroughly & my scores were not that good, so im going to be retaking the teas two weeks from now. The admissions advisor also told me that their process is going to take longer so I have a chance of getting accepted so im hoping he's right! lol

Hi everyone,

I have been following your comments since a couples of weeks ago and today I decided to post mine as well. I applied for the nursing program (Generic) at Resurrection University by April 1st. I talked with Juan Miranda ( very very nice guy indeed ) by the end of April and he told me I needed to wait by Mid May to receive an answer. Did anyone get info in the past couple of days from Resurrection or is everyone under this " agony" as well ? Thank you ... !!!

Ugh I know how hard the wait is! It took 5 weeks for me to get an answer after my application and test scores were totally complete. I was admitted under Guaranteed Admissions so if you are waiting on regular then it might just take longer to evaluate each person maybe. Good luck and hang in there! I know the wait is sooooo terrible! If you want to comisserate we can do so on here or on PM!

First of all - Congratulation !!! since you have been accepted already. I could not apply for the guaranteed admission since I got 73 on the TEAS. I had been told first I needed to wait up to 4 weeks but then that I needed to wait till mid May since they had received double of the application expected. ok...more agony :(

The problem here is that I need to take 4 classes in the summer ( micro, sociology, math and intro to computer ) in case I am accepted. I am enrolled already and need to pay them ASAP but I haven't been told if I have been accepted yet. I am also preparing a CLEP class. I am working really hard and doing everything on my side, but I don't know if it is worth doing it when I don't yet even know whether I have been accepted. In case I have, fine, but if I haven't... :(

Wow that is a lot of classes to do during summer! You're gonna be busy is an understatement! If you have a competitive GPA and good science gpa then let's hope the TEAS isn't gonna hold you back too much.

Did they tell you how many people applied this year? I really wonder about that because you hear these crazy stories of ridiculously huge numbers of people applying to CCC and UIC, etc.

I know that when I log on to the campus portal the daytime classes/labs show a total of up to 64 spots open (minus whoever has already registered). The evening sessions show up to 24 total. Don't know of the accuracy to this but seems about right on numbers.

Just a point of timing stuff — I was given the choice to register my pick out of 4 different days/times, two were in June and two were in July, so they fully planned for this process to take up into May, if that is of any comfort.

And always remember — there are people who will give up their spots and go to other schools! How am I doing on the pep talk!!!?!?!??

: ) Thank you... your pep talk was Excellent !!!

Well, a good sleep always help... I don't have anything else but just wait... I am going to prep myself to pass the sociology class through the CLEP, so as to have only 3 classes in the Summer. ( at Truman College)

As the spots you were asking about I thing you are right since what I have heard is that the total open spots for the generic programs is 64 from which 30 something have been granted already. Hopefully I am the next one !!!

Resurrection is my only option, I have something special for this university. It is an inner good feeling. I don't know. Juan makes me feel really good every time I talk to him . I trust in him a lot and even though I would call him every day, I don't want to bother him when it is not necessary. ( but I am so anxious ).. Thank you again... and I will let you know when I get a response... :)

Res is the only school I applied to. There is something about it that appeals to me too in a big way, so I know what you mean.

I'm sure they'll get to you soon! They are busy after all. Just because your TEAS is on the lower side doesn't mean your application has to go to committee I wouldn't think, so hopeully you get your good news this week!!!!! Have you been checking your status on the online portal?

Yeah, I check it everyday.. I go to "Academics" then "Online registration" but nothing has changed. I started checking it when I read here that other students had been accepted... like you.

I want to thank you for all your support. So If I am accepted I would like to meet you someday at Resu. BTW Patricio here ( from Argentina)

Hope you are right and I get an answer this week ( a good one, of course :) )

Actaully that didn't change for me until a week after I was accepted. Go under "my profile" and then click "my information" and it will say "application complete" but that is what eventually changes to "application accepted."

Thank you for the info. I did not know that. I have just checked it and it says " application complete" ...

Thank you again.. :)

Still waiting... !!!! :(
