When I started LPN school, I had to have at least a "20" on my ACT. I had a 21...my math score pulled me way down with an "18" and "23"s on everything else. It has been a long time since being a student and probably I would assume different schools may require different things.
Good luck and welcome to nursing!
Blessings, Michelle
Each school is diff, my school it did not matter what my high school GPA was only my pre nursing class GPA.
I have a daughter who is a Jr in High School who wants to be a nurse, she started working as a CNA this summer and now works every weekend. She loves it and is learning a lot---I think it is a good idea to get your CNA lic before you start nursing school.
Good Luck!!
Hmmm, I'll just offer that when I started nursing school, neither my high school GPA nor my GPA from my first stint of college (I earned a bachelors of arts degree four years before I decided to go back for nursing).. neither of those ever came up as an issue.
My guess is that it would just depend on the college that you decide to attend.
Let me also offer that neither of the above mentioned GPA's were stellar, exactly. My college GPA was 3.0... my high school overall GPA was *2.2*!!!
I despised high school and just never made much effort.

Hi. I'm still in high school but really hope to become a pediatric nurse. (I just decided this recently) I joined this website to gain more knowledge on nursing, and I still have a lot to learn! I am just wondering what the typical required high school gpa would be to get into nursing school. I am not sure exactly which type of program I will do, but is there a generic requirement? Any help is very much appreciated.
