Request Copy of NCLEX Passing Letter

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone here can help how to request a copy on NCLEX Passing Letter from California Board of Nursing. I passed the NCLEX in 2007 and now I am applying in US but they required the copy NCLEX Passing Letter which I don't have.

Hi. I am planning to request for a copy of my pass letter because I lost it but then, I'm confused. I passed NCLEX-RN in 2009 under California but since I was not able to provide SS number, I endorsed it to NMI. My question is.. where will I get my pass letter? BON California or NMI? Please enlighten me with this. Also, is pass letter and candidate report same?

You need to send a written request to CA BON, there is a fee involved which was $40 last year. (call them for the exact amount as it is always changing). You should include which State BON you want CA BON to send your NCLEX results to.

Thank you @YeXinZhi. I had asked the same question to NEAC and they said "Since you did a score transfer in NMI, your score and originating state now is NMI". I had been asking nurses, some said CA and others said NMI.

Do we have the same case mam/sir?

Is pass letter and NCLEX RN candidate report same?

I find that highly unusual.

The first state I ever got licensed in was NY but I passed my NCLEX through California but did not get my license then because I didn't have an SSN. When I applied for my NY license they asked for my NCLEX results which I then requested from California BON.

Last year, I applied for my Washington and Oregon licenses and they asked for my NCLEX Results, so thinking that NY now has my NCLEX results I asked them to forward it to Washington and Oregon. They told me that since California was the original NCLEX state, I should request my NCLEX result letter from them.

It maybe different with NMI though but it seems in my experience it has been consistently California BON.

I believe the NCLEX-RN candidate report and pass letter are the same thing.

hi @lmlanorio,

I sent the request letter last Feb. 5 thru DHL.

Still waiting for the pass letter. Hopefully I will receive the pass letter by next month .

hi. I received an email today from CA BRN.

Unfortunately, this was their reply:

"The CA Board of registered Nursing has received your CANDIDATE REPORT request. However, since you have request CA board to transfer your test score to another State board(NMI); by transferring the test scores to another state, the California Board of Registered Nursing will no longer be the initial state of licensure by examination. We are unable to verify your test result. Please contact jurisdiction(NMI) that you were transferred for test information. "

Did you enclosed in your request a copy of your passing letter?

After passing NCLEX-RN, I requested CA BON to verify that I passed the exam to Vermont when I applied to Vermont BON, that was in 2009.
In 2019, I requested from CA BON to send me an official results on NCLEX with my picture on it along with a 60 dollars bank draft and yes, they sent it to me.

Transfer of score is different from just verifying or confirming to another BON state that you passed your exams.
