Repeating a course, what are the chances the exams are going to be the same?

Published

I was doing good up until now and I have to repeat a course this semester. I'm choosing the same prof, since I am familiar with him and I realize my weaknesses and what I need to do to get a better grade this time. I'm more confident. But I am curious, what are the chances this professor is going to give the same exam again? A friend of mine who took him (knows him personally) swears up and down that he gives the same 5 exams semester after semester, but I just don't believe it. He can't be that lazy. I know he has a lot of students but I felt that he kinda recognized my face, he may switch it up because I'm back again. not that I wont study but it would take a load off of my back when you're constantly worried if the professor is going to pull a surprise on you and put stuff on that exam that isn't in the notes or lecture

If he gives the same exams, he gives the same exams. You still have to study and be prepared for it. Haven't met an instructor yet who gives the same exams. I would have to agree that is lazy and I don't see how the school lets him get away with the practice. But you shouldn't care as it is to your advantage. Good luck with the course.

If our instructor had a 40 question exam, he would use some type of program to randomize those 40 out of a possible 200 questions. He would only let us keep his short quizzes but not the full exams. You'll probably see some of the same questions but not all of them.

My anatomy instructor uses basically all the same tests each semester. He has several different tests for each of his classes (micro, physio, genetics, anatomy) and they differ a little but not much. He has so many classes he doesn't really have time to make up new tests. He's the only bio teacher. I'd study your quizes, tests, and if you have end of chapter quizes in your book look over those. We also had a website in our book for pratice tests where our professor pulled questions from.

It's to your advantage that you're taking the same instructor. You know how they teach and how they lecture.

Good luck!

Last night in A&P 2 our Professor talked to us about this. She said that will let us keep all of our quiz and tests because she makes up new ones for all her classes. This is the first science class that I will be able to keep my exams. I think that a lot of the teachers are not lazy, but they are busy and can only ask so many questions on the same subject. I have had scan tron and written exams in other classes that we were not allowed to keep because they dont change the exams up a whole lot.

I have taken the same professor before and she never had the same exam. I would think most teachers changed it up a but from class to class.

My A&PI professor used the same tests. I dont think it's that uncommon to use the same test or same questions/different order. Of course this was a few years ago so he may have changed his tests by now.

i think if you are familiar with the professor its better to have them again. Having an edge coming into it cant hurt.

Smart of you to take the class with the same professor. New tests or not, you will be so far ahead of the curve and really have a leg up. I bet you will do really well this time around. Good for you!

Well, took my micro test again and the majority of it was the same. Some of the answers were just next to different letters. I'm pretty sure I aced it this time around. So far I'm doing good. Keep you all updated
