I was on vacation with my boyfriend. He was drinking, things got out of control. I called the police and was arrested for pushing him away from me. I was arrested in Florida. I came home after 4 days in there. I later went to court and did a pretrial diversion due to the fact I had never been in trouble in my life. I had to take anger management classes and the charge was dismissed. I have not renewed my license since then. Do I have to report this? I am very nervous about it.

My understanding of diversion programs is once you complete the requirements, your record is expunged. If that is the case, then I would think that once it's expunged, it's not something you need to disclose. But I'm not a lawyer.

What does it say on the BON website? Where I am you have to self report if you have been charged with any offense in any jurisdiction.
If you can be identified by your user name, suggest you change it to something more anonymous.

First check your Board's website for info, then seek the advice of an attorney experienced in dealing with the Board. You can get a referral from The American Assn of Nurse Attorneys: TAANA Executive Office - Home. Good luck.

That's how it is here too - we live in Louisiana - any kind of offense has to be reported.

Here in Alabama, we are suppose to report everything also. However, due to the fact I was told by the court system that it would be erased after my completion of the requirements, I didnt want to report it. I guess I will to be safe. Im angry that there is a possibility that "I" could be fined, placed on probation, or worse....in other words suffer AGAIN from something that happened that should have never even happened in the first place.
I think if you follow caliotter's advice and speak to an attorney experienced with the BON, it will ease your concerns and protect your license.

Depends on your states NPA and the renewal paperwork.

Government Agencies get to see the expunged record. If you do not tell the BON, then they can take action.
