"Flimfly", It was not my mind to indicate you!!!. But, I think you took MY message in personal. I am sorry about that, but I would NOT deal with you in personal(sorry, this is about your low level:yeah:). So I think, you do NOT have to read rest of this message:nono:. Please, stop here and do not read any more:lol2:!!!!

Today, I am in the Accelerated BSN program at University of Miami. Which is both Nationaly&Regionaly accredited BSN program. Of course every single RN program has very intense curriculum and we are working very hard for become an BSN. I am not sure, why Remington college can not be regionally accredited BSN program. Maybe one of the reasons was RCON is just the college level and their prerequisites does not match to standarts; prerequisite-science classes with no lab?, or low level-%65 TEAS score? lack of previous health care experience? cost of tuition..etc.. I did not go to RCON because, I have concern about it; if I can find a job after my graduation. Today, many hospitals are asking for BSN degree and also they are asking for graduation from regionally accredited University. I am happy at University of Miami's BSN program. Also, I respect that who is going to Remington College's BSN program and I respect for all other nursing programs in the country. I wish best of luck for everyone......

Now that there have been a couple classes that have graduated from RCON's ABSN, I was just curious as to how easy it was for the graduates to find jobs. Did most students have job offers before they left the school? What feedback can graduates give about how employers feel about RCON as a school?

jlanders,I graduated 10 months ago and passed my NCLEX 9 months ago, I got one job offer from Iowa; $20/hour in Assisted Living Home. So, currently I'm working at my brother's car wash business in Tampa. There is no luck to find a job in Regional Florida Hospitals.

Jlanders - for the most part it is very easy to find a job. Cohort 4 had 10 students with job offers straight into the ICU (which is virtually unheard of as a GN). I have heard of no issues with RCON students finding jobs - most students get job offers straight from their practicum experience :) Infact, all of the hosptials we have clinicals relations with LOVE RCON students - in which they told the school that, their managers, our clinical instructors, and us.

Hope this helps!

Sorry qwew - you are the only one that I have heard of such an experience :(

Cohort 4 had ~35 students...10 got ICU job offers, and most of the rest received job offers within the first month of graduation (even before having sat for the NCLEX).

Besides that, I have been applied few master's degrees around the Florida but they did not accept my applications because, NOT regionally accredited. (my GPA was 3.65)

THANK YOU.

I think you are working for the school, but this questions was for students and I answered it very well.

qwew I'm just curious, what do you think is holding you back from getting a job? Your blaming the school? If you have a 3.65 and passed your nclex, sooner or later you would get a job if you tried, no?

babyspike, I am impressed that 10 students got job offers directly into an ICU. That is what I want to do so I can get 1-2 years of experience and go on to get my masters. What was it that made those students get hired into an ICU? Their grades? Relationships developed from clinicals? Or something else...?

it was mostly relationships they established during their clinical experiences - they made great impressions on the employees; which in turn, led them to recommend them for any position in which they applied.

likewise, our professors/administration at rcon really go out of their way to help graduates. they are very open to writing recommendation letters as well.

grades are rarely a component for a job hire :)

Very interesting and good info... Did these people that went straight into the ICU, plan on getting their master to be a CRNA?
