has anyone enrolled in the inaugural Accelerated BSN class that started january 2009? what are your impressions so far?

thank you,

I have not found out very much information, but what I have found does not look good. The community college where I live says that you can practice anywhere with either a Ca or NY license but it is very difficult or impossible to transfer it locally. I talked to someone who did manage to transfer and he said it took more than 6 months to get approved.

I was unable to talk to anybody about whether or not an advance practice degree makes you eligible to move easier than with a general BSN.

As for graduate school, you can go to a non-public university, or one that accepts national accreditation and not just regional. It will limit your choices but will not make things impossible.

I think they had the video because a group of students sued the school because they were not able to take the NCLEX because they did not do well enough on the HESI to graduate. I heard this second hand so some facts may a little off.

So... are you saying it will take 6 months or more if I want to use my BSN in Pennsylvania? And if we stayed in Florida we would be fine? I'm confused as to what you are referring to..

Does anyone know exactly how their payment plan is set up even if Federal loans in addition to private loans not matching the cost of tuition?

If you owe them money, you can either pay them monthly or quarterly in equal installments. Call the financial aid guy up there. He's real nice and can explain how it works.

Hey everyone,

I am looking into apartments, and am realizing that it is so much cheaper to find a roommate. Is anyone that is starting in July looking for a roommate or be interested? I am assuming that we will both be focused on our studies, and not doing any crazy partying or anything, so I wouldn't have to worry about that. We would also be able to carpool to class/clinicals etc….and there seems to be a lot of 2 bedroom 2 bath places for rent in that area. If anyone is at all interested, please let me know. My only requirement is that you're a girl! :)

Thanks! Look forward to hearing from everyone!

Nicole

Hey everyone,

I'm a bit late, been caught up on a few things. My name is Edwin and I reside here in Orlando. Just wanted to introduce myself as one that will begin in July 2011 at RCON .

Congrats to everyone else that made it in!

Edwin - Do you know of any good area's to live? I'm coming from Pennsylvania and am having a really hard time finding affordable apartments near RCON..any help would be greatly appreciated!

hey nfpristera,

sadly i do not...i am not too familiar with the area but i know for the most part that it is a nice area. from what previous post state, it looks like some relied real estate agents to help with the finding. i myself will be commuting due to it being smarter financially.

Hi my name is Mila.I'll be in the July class also. I will be actually looking to rent a room in our house. My husband might be leaving for work in the next few months and I will be alone in the house. Not to mention that we have to maintain 2 places by then prompted us to decide that we will rent one of the rooms.I live probably 25 min away from campus but i am very near major highways including toll roads which is a very easy access to clinicals in downtown orlando as it will miss i-4.tho you will always have the option of taking that and not pay the tolls. maybe one afternoon after orientation anybody who is interested could check out my place and see if you like it.The community where we live is very quiet and conducive to studying.anybody who is interested send me an email at [email protected].

Hi all,

I just moved to Sanford last week. So far I love the area and stuff but I can't wait to meet everyone at orientation Thursday and Friday!!! It will be nice to have some friends and actually know people who live less than 1200 miles away from me (I'm from Michigan). Has anyone else arrived in the area that's from out of town?

Chelsie

Nicole

Hello Nicole,

Im also not from Florida and was in your same situation looking for a place before The start Of School. Have you looked into The village at baldwin park, it is about a 30 minute from lake Mary and very close to downtown orlando. If you Google it you can find More info and contact info. good luck :)
