Hello everyone,

I recently got accepted to Remington's July 2011 class. I was wondering if anyone had any tips regarding the study materials. I would like to get a head start now that I can. Are there any classes that were more challenging than others? Is there some topics form previous classes that I should review? Thank you.

Guys keep in touch and let me know how it goes. I will probably be in January class, because I have not taken my Teas let. Still studying science. Do they have chemistry in the Teas? Please let me know how much science you need to know for the Teas. Thanks.

Science portion of the teas include science reasoning, biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, basic physical principles, and life science.

Thanks good to know, because I am having problems with Chemistry, everything else, I am getting high 90's.

Pharmacology is going to be the hardest. It's the class we lost 3 people in. I would recommend looking over that if you can. Pharmacology for dummies might be a good start. Pathophysiology is also a hard class. Brush up on your anatomy and physiology. Your other 2 classes won't be that bad. You'll get your books about a week before classes start. Make sure you read read read!!

Hope that helps. Congrats on getting in!! :yeah:

hey i had a question in regards to reciprocity between NJ and FL....i am a resident of NJ but am planning to attend a BSN program at remington....will i be able to register to take my NCLEX-RN in NJ instead....or will i be limited to taking the exam in FL? and if so, can my license be reciprocated/endorsed to NJ?

I just wanted to throw this out there for anyone looking for info about Remington- while they are nationally accredited, they are not regionally accredited, meaning that if you were planning to continue your education to get your MSN after graduating with your BSN, the credits will not transfer to a university (such as UCF). This is a deal-breaker for me :crying2:. Good luck to everyone who was accepted!

Thanks for that cero-I did not realize how important that was. I'm going to call tomorrow, I'll let everyone know if I learn anything to the contrary

hey since you happened to answer one of my concerns, you might be able to help me with another concern i had. i am an out of state applicant who plans on starting in the july 2011 term....what my question was, being out of state, once im done graduating from remington, will i be able to reciprocate my florida license to the state of nj because i heard there's some reciprocity clauses that come in the way with florida??

Hey there :) I'm going to have the same issue. I am orginally from another state and plan to go back home after graduating. The way it works is when you get closer to graduation, you need to let the dean know of your intentions to move to another state. That way, she can send your information to NJ if that's where you want to take your NCLEX and work. Another option would be to take the NCLEX in Florida and then transfer your license to NJ, which would probably just cost you a couple hundred dollars to do. Nurses move around all the time so transfering your license isn't a real big issue. And a lot of people graduate in one state and decide to take the NCLEX in another. I've actually worked with nurses who did that. It's totally doable and nothing to stress out over. I hope that answered your question :)

Hi there. Remington is accrediated both nationally and in the state of Florida. I've never heard of UCF not accepting RCON graduates into their master's program. It was my understanding that majority of master's programs don't look at what credits you had as long as you had a BSN and had passed your NCLEX and had clinical experience. What kind of master's program was this for? I would be interested in knowing where you got your information as I am planning on attending graduate school a few years after getting out of Remington.
