U.S.A. Florida

Hello Everyone,

I am starting the post for anyone applying to Remington College of Nursing for the 2nd Degree Accelerated Bachelors of Nursing program in Lake Mary Florida. If you currently or previously attended RCON will join is as well.

Specializes in ED,CVOR,OR.

Yesterday I phoned and emailed Melissa regarding the scheduling of interviews . No response yet. I spoke with the admin and she said that they email the schedule for phone appoints way in advance so do not have to worry. You will know when your phone appointment is ahead of time.

Question: Do you happen to know where to find a copy of the background check results? I can't find anything on certified profile.

I honestly have no idea!

You might be able to call Certified People for more info. I had a hard time getting in contact with them because I did have question about the fingerprint process since I'm not in FL. They do eventually call back though if you leave a message.

Hi magrattie,

I finally got a hold of Melissa after calling numerous times yesterday. Only RCON has a copy of the background check and Certified only helps with scheduling the fingerprinting.

I drilled Melissa about what to expect for the rest of the application process. She said that the final reviews will be done in batches and could take as long as up to December before all early acceptances were complete. So it is possible that some would be reviewed and competed next week and others reviewed and completed weeks after.

Melissa will email the schedule for interviews. If you have an outstanding item like classes to complete or are awaiting degree conferral, you will still be invited to the phone interview process and possibly be granted provisional acceptance pending the completion of outstanding items.

Any Teas over 75% is in good standing. I was surprised about that!! So I've been stressing about my 85% and now I can relax.

Those of us with degree GPA's over 3.0 are in great standing!

I feel so much better now that I have spoken with Melissa and I am more confident about the process.

Thank you so much for sharing this...This is such helpful info. She got back to me via email that my science is a 2.65! haha.. so I will just have to redo one course which is nice.

Good luck on the interview!! You have a lot to be confident about, and would do well in the medical field. Best!

I also applied for early acceptance. I'm very nervous about it because I really want to get by BSN as soon as possible. I got an email last week confirming my application was processed and all I had left was the phone interview. I'm really hoping to hear back about this soon!

It's making me nervous to wait! What's your teas, science and overall gpa?

Teas 89.7% and overall/science gpa of 3.2. I also have 4.5 years experience as a cna/unit secretary/phlebotomist in the emergency room, cardio thoracic, burn, and neuro icu, and a little psych and peds. I'm really hoping my background helps me stand out since my gpa isn't as good as I could be.

I'm sure it will! Remington seems to really look at the whole package! Where are you from?

That's what I hear! So here's to hoping!

I'm originally from just outside of Charlotte, NC but I've been living and working here in Orlando for almost 3 years. My BS degree is in athletic training and sports medicine but I've realized I really need to get back into more of the medical side of things rather than rehabilitation. I really miss the hospital setting.

Where are you from?

Lexington, KY :)

Wow, you have a good little move to make if you get accepted! That's awesome though. I love this area. Hopefully we hear back within the next few weeks!
