Remington College of Nursing Florida

I got accepted into the Spring 2013 second degree nursing program at Remington and was wondering if anyone would be traveling from California or the west coast. I am debating if I should drive there or fly, but I would prefer to carpool to save on cost. Anyone out there get accepted?

Yay so excited but overwhelmed at the same time! See you at orientation! Email me so we can exchange info! [email protected]

How has the program been going for you all?

Just curious as to where everyone is living? What's the average cost, amenities, loud neighbors? I live iN japan, but am from Orlando. I am thinking about coming back to go to Remington, while my husband stays here (navy). He'd be paying rent here, so I'm looking for a cheap, safe option..

I just found out last week that I got accepted to the July 2013 class. I'm from Virginia and am not familiar with the Lake Mary area at all, does anyone have any suggestions on good apartments? I'm on a time crunch now and need to find a place to live before my current lease in VA ends ( June 24th)! Thanks!

Could you please tell me if you applied for early acceptance or regular? Im in Japan and a month between would make me run around like a crazy person to get to Fl on time.

Oh! and congrats!

Congrats agbndm1221! I received my acceptance letter a little over a week ago as well and I can't wait to start in July :)! I also have been researching apartments, I will be relocating from Connecticut so I have no idea what I'm getting into. I have heard good things about the Pebble Creek apartments, but I don't have any personal experience in the area. Octobersongs, I applied regular admission and found out fairly quickly. There has been a relatively short amount of time between receiving my acceptance letter and the start of the program, so coming from Japan you may want to apply for early admission!

Octobersongs, I had applied early decision, but my background check didnt come in before the April first deadline, so I guess that put me into the regular decision pool.

And Congrats to you also acrabtree! I was told Sun Lakes is a good place to live as well as a few others such as Bell Timacuan and Colonial Grand at Town Park. ( Got this info from a friend of a friend who lives in Lake Mary) I was told to stay away from the Sanford area as far as apartments go, but most of the ones in Lake Mary are pretty expensive and seem to have kinda limited availability :(.

Oh yes mam! I will be applying early for sure. I am from Orlando. Lake Mary is awesome. Like anywhere it has its run down areas, but the whole city in general (Orlando) is perfect. I may be biased because I haven't lived there since being overseas, but I try to go home as often as I can. The thought of moving back for nursing school....I AM SO EXCITED and anxious!!! It's consuming me. All I can think about is getting in. I really hope I do. Congrats to you on your acceptance!

Another idea.. look in Longwood, and even Altamonte Springs. Altamonte is just a few exits down from Lake Mary, about 10-20mins.

I was reading another thread on Remington and still haven't been able to determine if this is still an issue. Although RCON is accredited by the CCNE, are they still only nationally accredited as opposed to regionally? I plan to later go on for a masters in CRNA. I haven't picked a program yet.

Hello! I had my phone interview last week and this was one of my questions. Yes, they are only still nationally accredited only. The best bet is to email the programs you would like to get into after and they will be able to tell you. Most of the time the school websites tell you which accreditation they prefer.

I will be living in Colonial Grand at town park. I haven't been down to see it, but it seems to be in a good location and only about 5 minutes from the school.
