remington college of nursing ABSN program for summer 2015 FL

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

hi everyone! I'm creating a post since I haven't seen anything as of yet for the summer 2015 applicants for remington college. I have submitted my application for early decision and the application has just been processed. I was contacted by Melissa and told that interviews will be conducted beginning next week! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. has anyone else submitted their application? or plans on submitting it? look forward to hearing from other applicants and perspective students! =]

thanks mary! I believe alphabetical order of last names may have something to do with interview schedules. my full last name starts with an A which leads me to believe that it may be organized alphabetically according to last name. I first heard about my interview via email from Melissa and just received a conditional letter of acceptance pending my interview.

the letter of acceptance came via postal service

hey everyone! so I just completed my interview and I am so ecstatic because I'm in!!! the interview lasted 20 min and wasn't harsh at all. I spoke with Melissa and she asked me 5-8 simple questions. I'm sorry if I don't remember them all but here's what I have:

1. tell me about yourself

2. why did you choose nursing and what are your perceptions of the nursing field

3. what led you to apply to remington/why remington

4. list two adjectives that would describe a good nurse

5. how would you say your undergrad classes have prepped you for this science based program

6. rate yourself of a scale of 1-5 1being the worst and 5 the best

-computer skills

-reading skills

-organizational, time management, and planning skills

there are probably one or two questions I am missing but this is the general gist of the interview. it was very relaxed and more of a conversation. good luck to you all and hope to hear good news for you soon!

I'm so glad it went well! Thanks for the update :) I have mine tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully it goes as well as yours did!

Congratulations Marina!!!! Hard work pays off. Good luck Ashlee! I'm sure it will go great. I actually really like the interview questions. The tell me about yourself ones always make me a little nervous. I never know if they are referring to! Personality, current life, experiences, hobbies, etc... It is hard to summarize yourself in a couple sentences in a way. I am still waiting for my interview date *gulp*. Hopefully I will know soon because I really want to start working on my HRSA application if I am admitted. Also Marina, at the end of the interview she just told you that you were officially accepted? So happy for both of you! I hope I find out soon :,( ♡.

Mary she never actually told me flat out that I'm accepted but she did say that the provisional acceptance letter basically means that you were accepted and the only thing that would change that in my situation would be if the interview went horribly which in her words it didn't so although she isn't allowed to say up front that you are accepted once you get the provisional acceptance letter you can consider yourself to have one foot in the door so to speak. the interview just verifies that the school has made the right choice in choosing you to attend their school and once you mail back the contract that comes with the provisional acceptance letter you are officially enrolled as a student of remington. I wouldn't worry too much about the tell me about yourself question, I just gave a brief background history of what I have accomplished thus far and what has motivated me to do the things I have done. I'm sure your interview will be scheduled in the coming week. if not I would continue bugging Melissa lol. I know it sounds ridiculous but the staff in the admissions office knows my name by heart and recognizes my voice as soon as I call. it shows zeal and dedication to the school and makes you stand out as an individual and not just a number on a piece of paper

The interview went great! Melissa is so easy to talk to. I'm so excited to get my paperwork sent in, so that I can get the ball rolling. Mary, I would definitely continue to stay in communication with Melissa about scheduling the interview. That way she knows you're still interested, and excited about the opportunity! I hope that you hear good news soon, and Marina, I'm looking forward to meeting you in a couple of months!

Hi all! I've been posting in one of the other threads but just discovered this one! I was accepted as well and had my interview about 2 weeks ago. I also sent in my paperwork to accept my spot in the class! Does anyone have any more insight on Remington's accreditation and pursuing further education after this? I know that it is possible to attend grad school but it may not be as easy. Also anyone from out of state look into potential housing yet? I know I was sent a list of apartment complexes that students often live in.

I have some wonderful news for all of you new applicants. Remington College of Nursing is being purchased by ECPI University and the ABSN will now have SACS regional accreditation. You all are joining at a great time!

hi Sarah,

congrats on being accepted. remington is currently accredited by CCNE and is working on being regionally accredited as well. I have heard of students who have graduated and have moved on to be accepted in prestigious grad schools. I wouldn't worry too much about it not being regionally accredited. most if not all grad schools will always make an exception for an outstanding student. I will be relocating from nyc in a month to make sure I have enough time to find an apartment and get situated as well as become familiar with the surroundings before starting school. however I haven't been fortunate enough to receive a list of complexes that are most common among remington students. would you perhaps mind sharing that?

2BEAnORNurse where did you hear about the SACS regional accredidation? Marina I am also relocating from the NY area! The list came from melissa let me see if I can figure out how to attach it
