Rejected for Fall 2014 at UTA. What do I do now?

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

I applied for the nursing school at UTA for the fall 2014 and I was rejected. My stats were a 3.54 overall GPA and a 3.67 science GPA with no considerations.

I'm going to apply again for the spring 2015 with a higher GPA, but what else can I do? Would I have a better chance applying to TCU or TWU? Is the TEAS way harder than the HESI?

Yikes. Too bad I already used up my 4 grade replacements. :( unintentionally too. I started at a community college and transferred to Texas state. Texas state wouldn't take my lifespan class so I retook it and got a B (jr college lifespan grade was an A). So now UTA is calling that one of my grade replacements. Total bs.

Apply everywhere you can and take the first one that accepts you.

It's hard due to everyone applying!

My friend also did the Tarlton route, and she got rejected from TCC!

Specializes in Pre-hospital, ER, ICU and PACU.

How long did it take for you to find out whether or not you were accepted? I just applied.

Spring applicants find out in October

Specializes in neuro-surg, psych, CM/URP, CM/URP Mgr..

Apply to Tarleton! You might be pleasantly surprised! :-)

I submitted my application for spring 2015 Ap Bsn at uta, and I am kindy nervous. Does anybody know if they only look at the over all gpa or just nursing pre req gpa on top science gpa? Like if u took glasses that has nothing to do with nursing, do they counted as part the gpa or not.

And does anybody know any body that got accepted with just having good gpa and no partner or consideration at all cuz it seems like they weigh those considerations heavily more than GPA, which sucks.

They look at 2 different GPAs: the sciences alone and then all of the required prereqs together. They will not count the grades for classes that are not required.

I've heard of several people getting in without partnership and considerations, but their GPA's were really high.

i didn't apply to UTA ap Bsn because I have another couple of semesters of pre-reqs. i applied to UTA biology major and was accepted, so i should be able to complete micro and technical writing, and apply to the program in the spring to start in spring of 2016. anyone have any input on tarletan's ban program and the worrying disclaimer: "you may have to find your own preceptor for certain clinical rotations"?
