Registration Verification from Saudi Council

Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.

Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.

Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.

The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.

This morning the NMC asked me to send a new form of Saudi verification because it was outdated as they said. The form was filled by the SCFHS last september 29,2016 although I attached the Certificate of good standing that I took before I made my final exit last February 28, 2016. My problem is that it is hard to obtain those forms especially if you are out of the kingdom. It is done personally. Do they really need updated certificate of good standing? :( :(

I believe you have to get a new one since it has expiration date. The COGS can be done online since the Cert is just sent via email. The only problem is that you have to pay it through Atm in Saudi. I guess you have to ask a favor from someone to pay 300 sr on your behalf. With regards to the verification form. You can send a blank form then attached with your new COGS.

Hi Indai. Sorry for the late reply. For additional info. My representative sent the Saudi verification form through SMSA. I think it is located at Ground Floor of SCFHS bldg. The process took a week. Also don't forget to send copy of your passport because my rep told me they asked mine. I suggest not to call SCFHS anymore because they are unresponsive even at emails. :)

There is no need for an authorization letter, but there is no harm in preparing one just to be sure. They did not ask for one when I processed for my friend, I simply gave it to them and informed it was for someone else. This is the email ad I used: [email protected]

Oh, thank you aseRN! I am having difficulty processing my papers in Saudi. My agent in told me to just obtain a Certificate of Good Standing attaching the blank Registration Verification Form, and send it directly to NMC. I am just worried if during assessment, NMC will ask me to resubmit the form which must be filled-up by SCFHS. Anyway, I only have 1 employer for the last 3 years, in my NMC portal, I filled up the 2 employers area with the same hospital, so I can download the Reference Form 2. Am I right?

Hello Indai! I don't know about the Certificate of Good Standing. From what I understand from the NMC, they want the verification form to have the official stamp and for it to be sent directly by the registering body for it to be valid, otherwise, they might ask you to resend it again, which may take longer time in the end. You can ask others who have similar experience using only the Certificate of Good standing. About the employer reference, if you only have 1 employer for the last 3 years. You can download the employer reference form 1 twice (minimum of 2 reference) At least that's what I did because I did not have any contact with my previous employers beyond 3 yrs. The NMC did not ask me for more. Hope everything will go well for you. I am in the assessment queue again after resubmitting documents and waiting for my DL.

Hello Sir.... I just want to inquire since I am new about this NMC processing/translation etc. I already lodged my documents in the portal including my Saudi council certificate and I just found out that it needs to be translated. I just want to ask if I will translate my Saudi council certificate, do I still need a stamp from SCHS office? For my Saudi council registration verification, it was already sent to NMC.
