Registration Verification from Saudi Council

World Registration

Published

Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.

Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.

Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.

The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, Can someone pls send me the copy of memo from Saudi Council that they are not entertaining VOL ,that certificate of good standing enough evidence for nmc requirements.thank you so much im so glad to receive one.here's my email [email protected]m

Then, could someone pls clarify my queries to those who already done processing their nmc requirements, that PRC license and Saudi council both of the licences should be submitted to nmc?using the barcoded form.Presently im still working in Riyadh.thank you so much.

Hello... I also need some help. I have a problem with my application for APHRA. my situation is this.... I worked in Saudi Arabia, my first employment there was in a private hospital with a 2 yrs contract. I took the Saudi council 2010 registered as Nurse Technician with 3 yrs expiration. in 2012 I was employed in the Ministry of health and when I was about to renew my license in 2013 I was insisted to take Nurse Specialist and since it took too long for the data flow to be approved I was scheduled to take the exam 2014 and I passed it. I thought they will change my license card immediately but according to the Saudi council I will use the same license number and renew it again but since I'm already a Nurse specialist the required CME hours is 60 and i only have 30 at that time because I thought i wont need it anymore since i took a new registration and some of my seminars are already expired since they need within 3 yrs. registered CME.Then because of family problems I decided to finish my contract in 2015 without renewing my license for i was not able to complete the required CME hours.

Now my problem is, in my COE my employment in that govt. hospital is until 2015 but my license in my card even in my good standing the validity is 2013, though I have 2 board certificate in Saudi council in Arabic dated(2010 & 2014)years when i took the 2 exams. My agency wont help me with this they told me that I apply it on my own since they haven't encountered such situation before and it would cause me much money if they will apply for me with the possibility that could cause a problem in my application. So I really don't now what to do now. Please anyone there, I need some suggestion or advise. I'm also thinking to have those board certificate translated in English as proof and if i will apply on my own, but how or where will I start? Please help...

by the way, I'm currently working as a nurse here in my province since 2015.

Hi... I hope I got your situation right. You were registered as Nurse Technician in 2010 until 2013. You took the exam for Nurse Specialist but was not granted because of the lack of CME units? After your 2 year contract with the private hospital you were employed by MOH and was required to get the Nurse Specialist license, took and passed the exam but was not granted the license because of the lack in CME units? Yet MOH continued to employ you until you left in 2015?

It seems that the anomaly existed because MOH continued employing you inspite of 2 reasons.

1. Your license has expired

2. You were not granted a nurse specialist status because of lack of CME units.

These are mere technicalities and does not impose a negative impression on your proficiency and capacity to function as a nurse, however such oversight would have had serious consequences IF something happened to your patients. A sure case of malpractice.

Now, I think your question would be what certification would SCFHS provide you? I think, they will provide a certification for the Nurse Technician because that is basically what you were registered with. You may have passed the NUrse Specialist exams but the license was not granted because of failure to provide the needed CME units.

I think the next concern would be on how AHPRA would treat such situation, right. While the last say would be that of AHPRA/NMBA, understandably... I don't see much problem because the basic requirement of 450 hours of paid practice within the past 5 years will still be complied considering:

a. 2013 - 2015 employment with MOH or

b. 2015 - present employment with the hospital in your province

I think your big concern would be after doing the bridging program and getting your AURN license when you face ANMAC for PR skills assessment. I am sure questions will be asked by the assessing officer regarding that situation, but that would be still be for some time. Am sure, one way or another you could come up with a solution for that oversight. For the meantime, focus on AHPRA and the school where you will be taking your BP...

Hope this helps.

Oh btw, no need to have those certificates translated. AHPRA requires that certifications be sent directly by the registration agencies which is SCFHS in Saudi and PRC in the Phils.

so you mean, I can still process my AHPRA, because I am worried that they will deny my application for the BP and if ever that I will be approved and finish the program, would I be able to acquire employment, I am a bit concerned as well as scared to go in Australia with this problem at hand... ... by the way, I was not granted with the new License card as a Nurse Specialist. However, when I requested for my Good standing, it was stated there that I am already a Nurse Specialist but my license validity is still on the same year 2013. The SCFHS told me that all I have to do is complete the required CPD units to renew it and to obtain a new license card as a Nurse Specialist.... I don't know with this Saudi council, they make things complicated for me... anyway, I'm so happy with your reply... Thank you very much..

For AHPRA, I don't see much problem. After all, it seems that even with the 2 years that you technically practiced without a license, you will still be considered compliant with the basic requirement of 450 hours of paid employment within the past 5 years.

It's another question regarding employment because that's a matter that your prospective employer will decide on.

Hi guys!

I've been following this thread for quite some time, trying to fimd answers to the dilemma im facing now. So my problem is this: ive already passed the CBT and on the full assessment phase of the registration for NMC. Unfortunately, i just learned that the registration date on my saudi council certificate is incorrect. In the certificate, the registration date stated there was 5/2/2014 but actually I was registered sometime around the first week of oct. 2013. My registration number starts with 13-RN and also the registration date on my good standing certificate is 2013. It is stated in the good standing that "she has been a registered nurse technician in Saudi Arabia since 2013" It is evident that the date on my Saudi council certificate is indeed incorrect. Can anyone please suggest what I can do about this or if I can get the SCFHS to change my saudi council certification? Does anyone here have the same problem or know anyone who has? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Im desperate! Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi, I am currently processing my NMC application. I am having the same problem as yours now. My certificate of good standing states that I was registered since 2015, however the date stated on my SCFHS certificate is different (April 20, 2016). I arrived in KSA late Dec. 2014, so I think my registration date is around 2015. May I know how you solve this problem? Thank you.

Hi friends,

I have gone through many of the conversations and I have a clarification from you regarding the Un-Registered practice in Saudi Arabia.

I worked for two years in Saudi Arabia from 2013 to 2015 as a staff nurse .But I couldn't complete the data flow and didn't get Saudi council also.by the time it was the time to get exit from there and I didn't follow up for that.but now for NMC Registration I should show that two year as an unregistered practice.what is the solution for this?I have anly a prometric exam result and employment certificate.

Hope someone can help me out.
