Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.
Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.
Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.
The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.
@EdOng Hey I just need to verify something with you Sir. I'm still hesitant to continue with the new process because it would be very difficult to collate and collect everything again. Do you think it would be a good idea to just cut off the unregistered days of practice like instead of my real starting date I'd write it as if I began my work on the date when I was registered with the SCFHS so that I can just bypass that form altogether? They just need a year of experience, right?

The thing is, if you will do that, you have to change also the date of your employment certificate (its good.if your former employer is willing to that).
@Misplacedpens, I think that's also an option but you have to be careful because they might verify so try to to talk to your employer or reference about this..If you want, I was also wondering before to just make my work experience in the Philippines only..You still have enough time to weigh your options and I hope you'll make the right decision..
went to saudi council office in al khobar yesterday and almost fought with people. They told me that they cant do anything and the only option i have is to complain. Im so stressed out since im having my flight tomorrow and i only have my workmate doing everything since we're facing the same issue. Is somebody from jeddah can help us regarding the issue of verification of unregistered practice?it would be really a great help. im trying to phone NMC today.
@promking12 I've called scfhs main office and they said that no one will sign the paper for me. even through email they wouldn't respond.
they said that accdg to the higher administration all verification for unregistered practice has been stopped.
I am still hoping that I could have my form signed by scfhs jeddah. Do you know there contact number?I want to fly to get there by next week. I'm in Alkhobar now.

I have a 3 months gap. I called the call center and they told me that they wouldn't issue any explanation for people who have less than 6 months gap.
Can you advise me what to do next?
Hello, prinsesitayas! You should request for the unregistered practice form first from NMC via phone or email. Then, you need to bring it to Saudi Council office in Jeddah for signing and stamping. SCFHS Jeddah is the best place to process your unregistered practice form compared to the main branch in Riyadh and other provincial branches because the staff will not ask you too many questions. You don't have to request anymore for an explanation letter as long as SCFHS signs and stamps the NMC form of unregistered practice. However, since you did not beat NMC's deadline to submit your additional documents before February 28, it would not be advisable to do your unregistered practice at this point because NMC will ask you again to submit all of your documents under the new scheme. Sorry for the late response. I hope I answered your query.
hi.... I am currently in the process of NMC application, I have worked in the kingdom last 2003 and only in Sept. 2004 I had my Saudi council.. so I am sure they will ask about my unregistered practice. Do anyone have a copy from NMC regarding this form.. thank you for any response
Hi @EdOng Sir I hope you could help me out I was moved by the NMC to take the Cbt because they just found out my unrrgisterrd dates of practice last feb 19,2015
According to them I still need to get an explanation letter for this even if I was pass the CBT.
Sir edong, I called the call center and they said Yhey wouldn't hand out any explanation letter that has less than 6 months gap. I only have 3 months gap.
What other measures would you suggest? you mentioned about the explanation letter? who did that explanation letter from you? thank you. please reply to me

I have the same concern as yours. I was also moved to the new scheme because of this unregsitered practice issue. I had unregistered practice in Saudi 2012-2013 and sadly just left Riyadh this month.
You can have the form for unregistered practice signed by NMC but as far as I know this is under the old scheme and only the Saudi COuncil in Jeddah can have this signed.
another option, you can have your employer issue an explanation letter as to the reason for unregistered practice (e.g since you were still in the process of application
I would like to know if there is anybody still based in Jeddah. Im in need of assistance with my NMC form (unregistered practice) to be filled up in JEddah. Recently went for final exit. only to find out that NMc required for additional documents for my Saudi Council..
Yes , I am still in the kingdom. I'm in Dammam, I managed to get an explanation letter from my previous employer in Riyadh and also went to there to get a cover letter for the unregistered practice. I took a leave from work and processed this one, as Riyadh is far from my current workplace. It took them more than a week to process my request. But, As you said this is in the old scheme. So, I still don't know what will happen. However, my employer is asking me to send all pending papers to NMC now.
I am in the process of securing the explanation letter from my employer. I was able to get the explanation letter/cover letter from the Saudi Council but NMC found it to be insufficient.. Do you happen to have a friend in Jeddah?I am in need of assistance.
