Recommendation for A&P?? Flash cards ,coloring books etc.

Any recommendation would help!(: what worked best for you? Thank you!

My anatomy instructor basically explained exactly what we needed to do in the syllabus to do well in the class and what books he recommended. I would definitely recommend in getting a color atlas for when you can't make it to lab to study. It shows everything. I got a little older version of mine on amazon for about $40 and it worked great, so you don't have to spend a lot of money. I also recommend making it to lab in any spare time, and not to put it off until later. The first half of the semester, I was doing bad because I hadn't figured out how to study and wasn't making enough time to study. After I started using my atlas more and going to lab more I was able to go from a 66 on my midterm to a 91 on my final, and came out with an A. It was definitely the hardest A I have ever worked for, but also the most excited and accomplished I've ever felt seeing my grade. Find what works for you as early on as you can, having a study partner is definitely helpful as well to go over flash cards with and to quiz you. Good luck!

Spend extra time in the lab, do all your self tests in the book, read chapter summaries, re write your notes, do the online tutorials if your book has the key code to sign you up for it. They are extremely time consuming and were required for my A & P I course, but not my A & P II course. They are very helpful. Quizlet.com is a great site for self tests and flashcards.

I have two suggestions... 1.) Buy an anatomy coloring book 2.) Sign up for Quizlet

Quizlet is the best thing (for me) since sliced bread! I used to hand write my flashcards (and kill a zillion trees) but then I found Quizlet from a thread on this site. Not only was I able to make my own cards, but I could view other student's cards too. It really helped me out a lot! My favorite feature was using the bluetooth in my car on the way to class to study. I could pay attention to the road and study at the same time. I highly suggest it.

Good Luck! :)

I totally agree quizlet has been my best friend since ive started my biology journey I can honestly say that I killed at least 80-90 trees in the last 2 semesters but the quizes and hearing all my note cards back and to and from school and work has definitely helped

I did mine online through McGraw Hill. Each week I had anywhere between 50-125 study questions to look up, followed with a chapter test that would typically be 25-50 questions. Each question may have had as many as 10 questions within one question (if that makes sense). Needless to say, it took hours every week to complete the study assignment and the test itself would often take a couple of hours to complete. McGraw Hill had flash cards to study for each chapter, and it also had videos and ppt presentations. I did not like the flash cards. I knew people who used them and did ok, but they were just not for me. I highlighted all the questions I researched in the book and watched all the videos. This worked well for me... Good Luck :-)

I found coloring book did not do too much for me. It really depends on you. What I did was I scan the pictures and color it myself (so coloring book did help, but I made it on my own).

Flash cards? Hmm... I study and keep writing with my pen on the paper, so flash card was not for me.

What I did was - repeat, repeat, repeat!

absolutely love quizlet!!

My lab section did not have much extra lab time because all the time, it was occupied by other lab sections.

Hope the OP get to use extra lab hours.
