ooops... The other one had 2011 instead of 2012... let's try this again:
Just thought I would start a new thread for the current application cycle. Questions... stats... rumors... etc!
My question is... for those applying this cycle, how did you do on the TEAS V? Since this is the first year they are using this test, it would be nice to see how everyone is doing.
(Please don't post TEAS 3 or TEAS 4 results, as the scores are NOT comparable with the TEAS V.)
Hey all! Just wanted to wish everyone one last good luck before the letter frenzy begins!
That Blue and White Uniform is not for all the CCCs. All the colleges have different color uniforms. I know Capitals is a green color (top and bottom) and I think a white lab coat. I plan on getting the lab coat anyway because I'm always cold. Not excited about all the stains I'll get on it though. Love my tide-to-go! I also believe TRCC has a cranberry top and white bottom. I'm pretty sure the shoe regulations are across the board for all the CCCs. So excited to hear!!!:yelclap:
@Nursing4811, I have 4 children, 16, 12, 8, and 6. Ive been a stay at home mom for years with a couple part time jobs here and there. I did all my prereqs while the kids were home and this is the first year thay have ALL been in school full day. Im nervous about having to give 100% to this program and to my family but I here of so many moms who are working and have kids that are going through the program. Kudos to them and it gives me hope!
I've seen people walking around nvcc campus wearing navy on navy scrubs, dont know of they were in the radio program. I just remember wanting to be those girls, in the program, wearing those scrubs and on my way to becoming an rn! We all can do it!! Good luck today if this is the day we get the letters!
@CreoleNurse how far are you from Hartford? Do you guys think that makes a difference on when we will recieve them? I can't deal with this another day hahaha I'm even dreaming with my mailbox & letter ahhh.
i would think one day across ct... i send packages from guilford to new canaan and they always arrive the next day
i livein fairfield county. it should only take 1 day. i called gwcc and spoke withsomeone in their nursing department who said they sent out letters monday morning.she also stated ineligible applicants should have been notified about theirineligibility prior to april 9th. and if i have not received any notice, i’meither on the wait list or accepted. since gateway is my 2nd choice, she said the probability of getting in would be slim since they have over 100eligible applicants, so if norwalk (my 1st choice) puts me on awaitlist, i’d literally just be waiting until next year…oh well, i had to laughbecause i did not know that was how it worked.
btw:does anyone know if bhsn filled all their seats? i have not received a yay or anay. and i think i read someone saying their notification comes in a thickenvelope? would this be the same for ct community college applicants? thesooner i know, the sooner i can get a good night’s sleep and plan my summer.
regardlessof what happens, i will not give up. i will be a nurse eventually…and so willthe rest of you. keep the faith (:
I just checked back in last years board and they were saying letters were supposed to be mailed out friday the 8th and were showing up in mail boxes on monday the 11th, so looks like 2 days. So if not in the mail today, def tomorrow if they were sent out when they said. I need to be studying for my micro exam, finishing up a micro presentation, and studying for an A&P lab exam, instead I'm on here stalking the board, haha. I'll try to study;)
I saw that too, but I wonder if it took a little extra time since the P.O. closes earlier on Saturdays? I am way over analyzing this, but as you all know, this is completely torturous.I just checked back in last years board and they were saying letters were supposed to be mailed out friday the 8th and were showing up in mail boxes on monday the 11th, so looks like 2 days. Your schedule is the same all semester for 101 unless you are day clinical, all of the class room labs are at night. 102 med/surg is the same all semester except the 3 weeks at OB. For 101 if you don't have any other classes you can do full-time, but don't expect an A.
