Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

To everyone who has stats posted on the status update page: Did everything get posted for you at the same time? i.e. classes from different transcripts, NGPA, etc? Everything is posted except my Chem course from a transcript by itself, but it says they received the transcript from there. Haven't heard back from anyone on why... makes me nervous.

Rooskenator-

no, not all of my info was updated at once. Last week they updated my info by adding my Nursing GPA and my TEAS score, but they still had not put up that my proof of high school completion was met. As of today however it is updated, there was a gap of a few days. Give it a couple of days and I am sure it will be posted. :)

The wait is killing me-- I want to know ASAP if I'm accepted into the nursing program. Majority of the applicants NGPA is up, just hoping for them to speed up the process of ranking now.

Good luck everyone! Hope we all get into our college of 1st choice.:)

Ah, ok... they are adding it in now :) I was also told that Gateway had 325 applicants- EEK! Don't know if that means they were all eligible or if that's just how many they received in general.

A sidetrack, sorry! Is Bio 105 (principle of biology, prerequisite for AP1) counted toward the Nursing GPA? Thanks.

I think only if it's been taken within the past 5 years. EVERYTHING from the past five years counts & everything older than 5 years that is in the actual RN curriculum or a requirement to get in counts (i.e. A&P I, II, Microbiology, Psych, Eng, etc all count)... This is how I understood it. If you go under your unofficial transcript or the status update page it should tell you which credits/courses they have transferred in & counted toward your NGPA. HTH!

Thanks! my Bio105 grade (taken last fall) has been transferred from Housatonic to gateway, and now is under my unofficial transcript. Since i will apply for the nursing program next year, I now have no record in my status update page of what course are counted toward the program. Does anyone have the Bio105 counted?

If it was taken last fall then it will definitely be calculated into your NGPA for your application next year.

325 is a number I can live with! 96 spots total...you have to think all 325 prob wont meet admissions requirements...that also brings it down a bit. Gotta keep the faith! Id really love to see some more stats to see if im even mildly competitive. It sucks that my upper level science courses from my biology degree are weighted the same as level 100 comm college credits. :(

I have seen a pretty mixed bag as far as stats go... pretty much a little bit of everything. Mine are 3.05 GPA, 85.9 TEAS & A in A&P I.

Just think- a MAX of about 5 weeks until we know :D yay!

Really??

Well, they have to let us know by May 1st... so that's about 40 days. But no one is counting or anything.
