Hi all!
Happy new year!
I have a question have any of you "skipped" a class by retaking the assessment test? When I took the test it placed me in college algebra, so I was going to take that class this semester but I had to drop it to take the Pre-VN course (JIC) so I'm thinking about studying on the side to see if I could test out of that class and just move on to the next class.
What do you think?
Done it?

Yes, I am assuming you mean "placement test". Yes, yes. I am an older student. Okay, I am old and already took college algebra about 26 years ago. I bought an Idiot's Guide to Algebra and studied for 6 weeks before taking the placement test. Passed the college algebra portion and was placed above the required level of math. I enjoy math but didn't want the extra time and expense of the class, book, and graphing calculator.
Awesome!! Math for idiots it is! LOL...
Idiots, Morons, Dummies. Anything that will walk you through the problems and give you practice tests.
lol... Ya Imma try that idiots guide one... or check on amazon to see the reviews from idiots and dummies... (well not the people being idiots and dummies) LOL!

I think they call it "CLEP" which is the official test that allows you credit for a class without actually having to take it.
If you're good at algebra and think you can study and test out.. GO FOR IT!!
mjmoon: Well I wasn't originally thinking to clep out, but that is a great idea if I get improved GPA from that. I was only planning to study to take the admission/assessment/placement exam again to jump into a higher math. I'm going to look into if I get a grade going the clep way, or what the benefits of "clepping" would be, that is if the school accepts it.
