Ratted Out A Coworker - The Joys of Charging

Published

I had had enough of the rotten attitude of this one assistant, the disrespect, the deserting of her post, the refusal to communicate with me and to tell me when she needs to leave the ward. She said she'd see me in the parking lot.

Supervisor basically backed me up, at least to my face. Wonder how she will portray it if it goes any further. Wish I could win the lottery and never have to go back to work. I just hate this type of stuff sooooo much. :o:o:o:o:crying2::crying2::crying2::cry::cry::cry::cry::crying2:

These days most supervisors are scared of the aides. Aides know that the RN is ultimately responsible for the patient. If the doctor or family finds the patient in a mess they will ask for the RN not the aid. The aides are aware of this.

When i have an experience like this with an aide, i advise the charge nurse not to assign them to my patients ever again. I would rather do all my own vitals and cleaning so i know it was done. You have the right to refuse her as your aide and it does send a message.

My mom is my hero. She was in management for years in a factory. Once she wrote a man up and in front of his union rep he told her to watch her back in the parking lot, because he was going to "slash the witch." She smiled at him and said, Well, you better make it count. Because if you get me and I don't stay down, I have enough money to make sure you disappear forever.

Good for your mama!!:lol2:

I want to know what happened to the respect nurses used to get from the techs, pca's...

Well it's a human thing. If someone doesn't really understand everything that's going on, but wants to know whether a group rates respect, they listen to how they talk about each other. If a group is backstabbing each other, you can bet others will get a lick in here and there too.
